About The Good Wife:
THE GOOD WIFE is a drama starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who boldly assumes full responsibility for her family and re-enters the workforce after her husband's very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Pushing aside the betrayal and public humiliation caused by her husband, Peter, Alicia Florrick starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney. As a junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she joins her longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner Will Gardner, who is interested to see how Alicia will perform after 13 years out of the courtroom. Alicia is grateful the firm's top litigator, Diane Lockhart, offers to mentor her but discovers the offer has conditions and realizes she's going to need to succeed on her own merit. Alicia's main competition among the firm's 20-something new recruits is Cary, a recent Harvard grad who is affable on the surface, but is competitive to the core. Fortunately, Alicia finds an ally in Kalinda, the firm's tough in-house investigator. Gaining confidence every day, Alicia transforms herself from embarrassed politician's scorned wife to resilient career woman, especially for the sake of providing a stable home for her children, 14-year-old Zach and 13-year-old Grace. Season 1



1. Pilot
Alicia returns to work as a defense attorney after her husband's corruption scandal and incarceration. She is assigned her first case; a retrial of a woman accused of murdering her ex-husband. Her firm successfully deadlocked the first jury, and they hope that sticking to that strategy will work again, but Alicia realizes that this trial will be more of a fight than anyone expected.

2. Stripped
After the State's Attorney refuses to pursue criminal charges, Alicia becomes second chair on a civil suit involving the rape of a prostitute at a bachelor party who may have been hired and abused by her own husband.

3. Home
The son of Alicia's former friends is charged with felony murder and Alicia decides to defend him, despite the fact that they ostracized her ever since the scandal.

4. Fixed
Alicia thinks she's discovered evidence of jury tampering in the firm's class action law suit against a pharmaceutical company. Meanwhile, her husband's legal team gets closer to his appeal.

5. Crash
Alicia and Will have only 72 hours to prove that a freight train crash was caused by the train company and not the engineers in an attempt to save the widows their husbands' pensions. Meanwhile, Alicia and Jackie disagree about whether or not to take the children to see their father in prison.

Alicia is working with Will on the appeal of a death row prisoner, she agrees to a conjugal visit to Peter but just to get some information on her client given that Peter convicted him when he was state's attorney.

While Alicia is preparing in a case defending a scientist accused of arson, she is suddenly asked to testify on Peter's behalf. Damages Peter Riegert guest stars as the judge in Peter's case and CBS' The Early Show star Russ Mitchell guests as himself and interviews Peter.

9. Threesome
Alicia is stunned when a plea bargain she agreed for DeAndre Ramsey of 13 years old with ASA Mark Richardson is not granted by Judge Henry Baxter. She thinks that he unfairly sent the boy to a detention center. Maybe the judge was racists in his sentence, but she soon discovers that the judge's problem is very different than what she thought.

10. Lifeguard
When Julia believes a judge acted with racial bias in sending a child to a detention facility she looks deeper into the issue discovering a trend dating back to June of 2008. Also, Diane receives an offer to become a judge.

11. Infamy
Alicia learns more about Peter's fall from office when she represents Glenn Child's wife, Marie Browning, in her divorce appeal. Meanwhile, Will and his opposing counsel named Emily, get cozy during a death suit against Duke Rosco, a caustic TV commentator.

12. Painkiller
Alicia and the kids have to deal with some really bad news; Peter learns some new information that makes him furious. Meanwhile, Alicia has to represent the doctor who prescribed medication to a high school quarterback, who appeared to die from a painkiller overdose.

13. Bad
Tensions are high as Peter's appeal begins while Alicia has to defend a wealthy client who doesn't seem that innocent, even after he's found not guilty of murdering his wife. Meanwhile, Diane takes precautions when a prisoner she put in jail is to be released from prison.

14. Hi
Alicia defends a man accused of killing his child's babysitter. Meanwhile, Peter's appeal seems to be going well, and Alicia prepares for the idea of his returning to her life.

15. Bang
While Peter gets settle at home and continue working in his comeback strategy, Alicia and Diane fight with the spousal privilege laws in a murder case, in order to get a wife to testify against her husband.

16. Fleas
Alicia and Will defend an attorney arrested for murder, while Peter strategizes with his team on how to handle his retrial and his public rehabilitation.

17. Heart
An emergency courtroom was set up in the middle of a hospital, and Alicia and Will have to battle Patti Nyholm and an insurance company, who refuses to pay the client for a life-saving in-utero surgery. Meanwhile, Alicia gives Peter a proper welcome home.

18. Doubt
Alicia and Will try to defend a college student who was accussed of killing her sorority sister while on sleeping aid. At the same time, they must deal with their growing sexual tension and Diane and Kurt McVeigh continue flirting with each other.

Alicia must face her former boss, Jonas Stern, in court, and debates incorporating personal information into her case. Meanwhile, Peter continues to use religion in his attempt at a comeback.

When Alicia receives a compelling phone call in the weekend the whole firm is called in to rescue a man from deathrow who will be killed in 9 hours, by finding proof the man is innocent. Meanwhile Alicia fears her daugther Grace starts believing in God. Kalinda shares a secret about her past with Alicia.

10. Breaking Up
Diane asks Alicia to make a tough decision regarding the company's split as Diane makes her decision official to Will.

11. Two Courts
The firm hires a jury consultant after discovering that the judge has a bias against Will. Meanwhile Kalinda informs Alicia and Will about the secret agenda that Blake is sharing with Bond ; which causes her to over-think her future at the firm. And new developments brings Diane and Will closer again.

12. Silly Season
Alicia Florrick defends a prisoner who confesses (under duress) to stabbing a fellow inmate with a shiv fashioned from a toothbrush, killing him. Cary Agos of the prosecuting team challenges the defense by uncovering an unlikely connection between the two inmates. Meanwhile, Wendy Scott-Carr – in a case of attempted payback for a racist flyer - tries to force Peter Florrick out of the state's attorney race by threatening to expose a sensitive piece of Florrick family history. Alicia finds herself once again on the verge of don't or do trust Michael J. Fox, who honors this show by yet another guest appearance as Louis Canning. They start to race against each other to round up the most clients for a huge class action lawsuit and along the way the team discovers a mole in the law firm, who seems to be working for Canning. Meanwhile, Diane and Will must put their coup on hold as Derrick Bond brings in a Super PAC as a client and they learn that his intentions are far more layered as first considered.

14. Net Worth
Will and Diane take on a defamation case from a young Internet billionaire, who is suing the film studio for depicting him in a negative light. Meanwhile, Alicia confronts Will about the message he left on her voice mail.

15. Silver Bullet
Diane is forced to defend Kurt when he is sued for a testimony he gave. Meanwhile Eli finds out that Wendy Scott Carr had an ilegal nanny that can provide as silver bullet for his campaign but is suprised to learn he developed feelings for Natalie ( America Ferrara ), the nanny. And Alicia is having a hard time accepting Grace new life path, named God.

16. Great Firewall
The law firm of Lockhart, Gardner and Bond sues a social networking site on behalf of a Chinese dissident, meanwhile Will and Diane hope to wrestle the firm away from Derrick Bond once and for all. Cary informs Kalinda about the investigation in which Kalinda is the prime suspect due Blake. Alicia receives an unexpected offer.

17. Ham Sandwich
Glenn Childs pulls Kalinda before the grand jury which causes Kalinda to enlist Alicia to defend her. Grace starts being more and more involved with her father's campaign due her belief in God. Blake discovers the biggest secret yet that Kalinda has been hiding.

18. Killer Song
The firm has to deal with a unique case when they stand by the daugther [Abby Hoffman]of a murdered woman who discovers the convicted killer wrote a song about the crime. Meanwhile Natalie [ America Ferrara ] returns when her father is in danger of being deported. Kalinda has to deal with her own mess and decides to talk to Peter about their past, but they discover that someone in the DA office may be able to blackmail them.

19. Wrongful Termination
Will and Diane are surprised when they learn their old partner died and are even more suprised when they learn who bought his firm. A rumor about Peter's past brings Peter's campaign a lot of problems. Meanwhile Cary finds out about Kalinda and Peter after he goes to see Matan Brody.

20. Foreign Affairs
A South American dictator creates legal problems between two companies. Alicia helps with Peter's campaign, then she finds out about him and Kalinda.

21. In Sickness
Lockhart Gardner represents a patient in a case against Patti Nyholm over a liver transplant. When Patti fires her law firm, she ends up hiring Lockhart Gardner to defend her in the case. Meanwhile, Alicia has to deal with the fallout of the news about Kalinda and Peter's affair.

22. Getting Off
A civil case turns criminal when the owner (Sarah Silverman) of an adultery website is accused of murdering a customer; Kalinda considers leaving the firm.

23. Closing Arguments
As the firm deals with the case of a man accused of killing a judge, Alicia struggles with her deteriorating marriage by turning to Will.

On the night of Peter’s gubernatorial election, Alicia, Will and Diane race to a series of emergency court proceedings when Zach believes he’s witnessed vote tampering. Alicia tries to hold a website accountable when its users accuse her client, a college professor, of being linked to domestic terrorism.
