The Plot:
For Samantha Newly, this fantasy becomes a reality after a hit-and-run accident leaves her in an eight-day coma. When she awakens in the hospital, she is surrounded by family and friends. The only problem is that she has no idea who they are - or who she is. In medical terms, Sam has retrograde amnesia, which allows her to fully function in the world but leaves her with no personal memories. Most people would deem this disorder a curse. But Sam may come to call it a miracle.

As she sets out to rediscover herself, Sam is forced to rely on the only people who can help her -- an eclectic bunch of friends and family. Although now strangers to Sam, it's not long before she begins to get an idea of who she was before the accident.

Regina and Howard appear to be loving parents -- when they're not downplaying the fact that Sam hasn't spoken to them in two years. Her supposed best friend, Dena, is sincerely supportive, until her real best friend, Andrea, exposes Dena as a fraud who hasn't seen or spoken to Sam since the seventh grade. Andrea is a party girl who seems to have Sam's best interests at heart. However in the midst of celebrating her return, Andrea neglects to mention that Sam's an alcoholic, is having an affair with a married man, and has a tendency for all-around morally questionable behavior. Sam's only seemingly trustworthy acquaintance is boyfriend Todd. But will that trust last when he discovers that she cheated on him?

Sam quickly discovers she was a horrible person. Vain, selfish and potentially surrounded by far more enemies than friends. She makes a conscious decision to improve herself moving forward. She vows to make better choices, even though her instincts may not always steer her in the right direction. She begins with Frank, the doorman at Todd's apartment building. Sam never gave him the time of day before, but upon actually saying hello to him, she discovers an incredibly observant and unlikely confidant.

Sam will need to continue to piece together things from her past to guide her in discovering who she is... or was. After all, sometimes to get to the end of the story, the only place to start is the beginning.

1. Pilot

After a hit and run accident puts her in a coma for eight days Samantha Newly wakes up and discovers that she has no memory of her former life, family or friends.

2. The Job

Samantha returns to work and discovers a handful of surprising things about her old self. When a board meeting offers a glimpse of her cutthroat and competitive workaholic former self, she ponders where new Sam should diverge from old Sam's path. Ultimately, she learns that having a clean slate doesn't necessarily mean you can ignore the past.

3. The Wedding

Samantha finds herself a bridesmaid in a wedding planned before her memory loss, only to arrive and find that she's not welcome

4. The Virgin

While out at a club with Andrea, Samantha is hit on and comes to realize that she has no memory of sex.....in essence, a virgin. She now has to decide whether she should re-experiencing her "first time" or hold off and waiting for the right guy.

5. The Restraining Order

Sam runs into an ex-boyfriend and discovers that he has a restraining order against her. After a series of revelations, Sam begins to fear her constant need for attention stems from her poor relationship with her father. She sets out to win her dad's love and affection, regardless of how outlandish the steps may be.

6. The Hypnotherapist

Sam makes an appointment with a hypnotherapist in an effort to regain her lost memories, but her revelations lead her to conclude that Regina and Howard may not be her real parents. Meanwhile, Todd makes a shocking confession to Sam.

7. The Hockey Date

Feeling that it's time for her daughter to start dating again, Regina sets Samantha up on a blind date with Kevin, the contractor hired to refinish their floors. When Sam inadvertently leads Kevin to believe that she's an avid hockey fan, she seeks Todd help, which is further complicated by the fact that he has a new girlfriend. Meanwhile, Andrea is psyched to be flying to Rome with her latest fling.

8. The Car
After borrowing her father's car, Samantha gets into an accident, then try to cover it up by pushing the car into a lake. To show that his trust in Sam has improved Howard buys her a new car. But, a guilty Sam confesses to Regina what really happened to the car. Regina uses the info to blackmail Sam to attend a function with her that she previously refused to attend.

9. The Break Up

After falling hard for Kevin and feeling that she may be in love with him, Samantha begins to move too fast in the relationship which could scare Kevin into breaking up with her. Meanwhile, Sam begins to redirect her feelings for Kevin onto Todd.

10. The Girlfriend

Samantha has to move back into the apartment when she learns that she could be evicted for subletting it to Todd. Meanwhile, Dena and Sam's mom bond when Sam doesn't show up for a makeover night with her mother.


11. The Boss - 04/14/08

Samantha is stunned when Winston Funk, the wealthy co-owner of the real estate firm asks her to marry him, when Andrea is completely smitten by him and is worried that this could ruin their friendship.

12. The Butterflies - 04/21/08

Sam sets Dena up on a date with her boss in order to persuade him to shut down a construction project that would destroy an endangered butterfly habitat. Meanwhile, Sam can't understand why Todd has been ignoring her ever since they shared a passionate kiss.

13. The Gallery

In order to make it appear that she has moved on since her break up with Todd, Sam asks Craig (Jerry O'Connell "Crossing Jordan"); -- a complete stranger -- to accompany her to Todd's photo gallery exhibit. However, Sam discovers that she and Craig have already crossed paths in the past, and not in a positive way. Meanwhile, Howard discovers that one of Todd's photos on display features his daughter in a not-so-positive light.

14. The Affair - 05/05/08

Sam's affair with Todd continues while he's still seeing a clueless Chloe; Sam gets the idea that Regina is having a tryst of her own. Meanwhile, Andrea and Dena talk about opening up a coffee shop together

15. The Birthday - 05/12/08

In the season finale, as Samantha's relationship with Todd begins to heat up, but, she decides to put it on hold until he breaks up with Chloe. However, Sam begins to think that Chloe is lying to Todd about having a sick aunt in order to play the sympathy card. Meanwhile, Regina and Andrea bump heads over how to plan Sam's birthday party.

1. So I think I can dance - 10/13/08

Samantha teams up with her mother for a dance competition in order to beat Regina's nemesis, Paula Drake. But Paula hires a ringer who may help her win the contest. Meanwhile, Todd is still in Sam's apartment because he's having trouble finding a new place.

2. Out of Africa - 10/20/08

Sam decides to go to Africa to help those in need, but changes her mind when she learns how many vaccinations she would need and how many obstacles she would face. She decides instead to hide out with Andrea and Dena so no one else will know she didn't go.

3. The Pill - 10/27/08

Sam enters a clinical trial for people with memory loss, and the pills help her regain memory fragments. Meanwhile, Andrea and Dena are mistaken for a gay couple, and Andrea insists that, if she were gay, she could hook up with a much hotter woman than Dena.

4. The Building - 11/03/08

Sam starts a real-estate firm with Regina, and falls for their first client. Meanwhile, Andrea tries to seduce a friend of Todd's to get a pro-basketball player's phone number.

5. Help - 11/10/08

After an altercation with a cop, Samantha is arrested and given community service, where she meets Natalie troubled young woman. Sam feels that it's her duty to help the wayward Natalie turn her life around, in spite of warnings from Andrea that Natalie's a bad seed. Meanwhile, Todd's friend offers advice on how to win back Samantha's affections

6. The Ex - 11/17/08

After telling her current boyfriend Owen that she lives with ex-boyfriend Todd, Sam discovers that Owen's best friend is also his ex-girlfriend, Willow. But, when a romantic spark ignites between Todd and Willow, Sam finds herself becoming jealous and must decide which man is most important in her life. Meanwhile, Dena tries her best to shoot a flattering picture of an non-photogenic Andrea in order to secure her a date with a hunky pro-basketball player

7. The Farm - 11/24/08

Sam's invites her boyfriend Owen to meet her parents, but the night turns into a disaster when Owen's philosophy about chicken farms rubs chicken farm owner Howard the wrong way. Meanwhile, Dena becomes concerned that Chase isn't spending enough time with her, so she decides to sit in on one of his meetings, and unknowingly usurps his staunch authority with his employees. Todd takes full advantage of having the apartment all to himself after asking Sam to stay at her parents' house while his mother's in town even after his mother cancelled her visit.

8. The Park - 12/01/08
Sam tries to be an environmentalist to impress philanthropist boyfriend Owen. Meanwhile, Andrea fouls out with pro basketball player Tony Danes, much to her chagrin.

9. The Family Vacation - 12/01/08

Samantha goes on a family vacation and takes Andrea and Dena along to take her mind off her broken heart. The owner of their vacation lodge turns out to be an old flame of Sam's, but she's afraid to reconnect with him. Still, Sam gets jealous when Andrea makes a pass at him.

10. My Best Friend's Boyfriend - 03/26/09

Sam and Todd double-date with Andrea and pro basketball player Tony Dane. However, Todd discovers there's something about Tony that could affect Andrea's interest in him. Dena asks Regina for help after developing an online relationship with a lonely soldier that could make Chase jealous.

11. The Dog - 04/02/09

When Sam feels her biological clock ticking away and realizes her desire to be a mother, she tries to find out if she's nurturing to care for another by borrowing Dena's dog. Meanwhile, Regina takes pilot lessons after Howard's late stepbrother leaves the couple a plane in his will. Andrea continues to date basketball star Tony Dane.

12. The Amazing Racist - 04/09/09

Sam decides she needs to improve her friendship with Frank after a series of misunderstandings. Meanwhile, Andrea fears that the perks that come from dating a basketball star will cease after her boyfriend is outed as being gay.

13. the Debt - 04/16/09

While attending a real estate seminar with her parents in Las Vegas, Samantha loses a huge sum of money at the craps table and finds herself in debt to the casino. However, a chance meeting with her ex-boss, billionaire Winston Funk (Billy Zane "Titanic"), could be the answer to her financial trouble. Meanwhile, when Dena asks Andrea for a big favor, she agrees but only if Dena consent to fake a situation that could help boost Andrea's sagging public approval ratings as she plans her wedding to pro-basketball player Tony Dane

14. The Rock Star - 06/25/09

When Sam starts dating rock superstar Tommy Wylder (Duran Duran's John Taylor) - an idol from a youth that she has no recollection of - she becomes so embarrassed by Andrea and Dena's fan-like reactions that she unintentionally begins to alienate them. Meanwhile, with Sam dating Tommy, Regina fondly recalls memories of Howard's early days as a musician.

15. Todd's Job - 07/02/09

After realizing that "old" Sam may have been responsible for Todd's failure as a photographer, "new" Sam sets out to sabotage his competition for a job at a local newspaper. Meanwhile Regina's, desperate for a new listing in order to continue touting her real estate partnership with Sam, puts Dena's house on the market - unbeknownst to Dena.

16. The Sister - 07/02/09

Samantha is shocked to learn that she has been kept in the dark about having an aunt and a grandmother because of a feud over a family heirloom between Regina and her sister. Meanwhile, Andrea's popularity with pro-basketball player Tony Dane's fans and teammates takes a dive as she is deemed a jinx when the team begins to lose their games every time she's in attendance.

17. The Dream Job - 07/08/09

After Winston hires her to head his charity foundation, Samantha hires Andrea to be her vice president of legal affairs. Meanwhile, Dena  offers to help Andrea with the wedding plans with hops of being a bridesmaid

18. The First Date - 07/08/09

Sam's attempt to plan a new "first date" with Todd continues getting pre-empted when her boss, Winston Funk, keeps throwing work at her in a effort to rekindle their past romance; Meanwhile, Andrea becomes the focus of a reality show.
