About The Show:
Jimmy Chance, who hasn't made the best decisions in life, is trying his best to raise his daughter with the help of his family who didn't do the best job raising him as a child. His family consists of a working mom and dad Virginia and Burt, and an almost never-lucid grandma Maw Maw. Rounding up the cast is Sabrina, a worker at the local store that Jimmy has a crush on, and several recurring stars.

Season 1



1. Pilot
Jimmy learns that he is a father and decides to keep the baby girl despite the grumbling of his parents.

2. Dead Tooth
Jimmy tries to find a babysitter when he decides to get a job, only to end up meeting an old fling who complicates his intentions of getting closer to Sabrina

3. Dream Hoarders
When Jimmy "teaches" Hope to crawl, the family must baby-proof the house and find new places to store their belongings. It's soon revealed that Virginia is a hoarder and has been saving junk in the storage shed, which becomes Hope's favorite new hiding place. This leads Virginia to realize that she may have to change her ways. Meanwhile, Jimmy makes frequent unnecessary trips to the grocery store to see Sabrina.

4. Say Cheese
A visit from Sabrina makes Jimmy realize that he doesn't have any photos with Hope, so he organizes a family photo shoot that creates even more chaos in the household.

5. Happy Halloween
Jimmy offers to go to a Halloween party with Sabrina when her boyfriend can't make it. Meanwhile, Burt tries to play tricks on his son, while Virginia takes her grandmother trick-or-treating.

6. Family Secrets
Jimmy is faced with the decision to keep or get rid of the stuff that Hope's mother had in prison. When his own mother suggests that he needs to protect Hope from the truth, Jimmy comes to a realization that his parents must be hiding something from his childhood.

7. The Sniffles
Virginia panics when Hope catches a cold and the rest of the family has no health insurance, so she makes drastic measures to prevent others catching it. Jimmy gets a second job in order to take his daughter to the doctor.

8. Blue Dots
Jimmy decides to put Hope in an expensive daycare center, but meets an obstacle in the form of an old record from Burt's past, so the family decides to take matters in their own hands and deal with the law.

9. Meet the Grandparents
Jimmy decides to change his usual Thanksgiving routine by inviting Hope's other grandparents, Dale and Margine, to Thanksgiving dinner. However, he soon realizes that he made a mistake when the grandparents kidnap Hope.

10. Burt Rocks
Realizing that his father had to give up his dream of becoming a rock star to take care of his family, Jimmy decides to give Burt a chance at reliving his rock days with help from Burt's music idol Smokey Floyd.

11. Toy Story
Jimmy finds out about his father's annual Christmas scheme where he sells the most wanted toy for a lot of money, which always left Jimmy disappointed when he was a child. Virginia wants the family to be a part of the living nativity scene at their church to gain the respect of the members.

12. Romeo and Romeo
Jimmy makes friends a single dad and they set up a play date, but Virginia doesn't like the idea because she is the man's housekeeper. However, Jimmy and the guy set out to have a dinner at the Chance household to make peace.

13. A Germ of a Story
When Sabrina reveals to Jimmy just how unsanitary his house is, the entire Chance family starts getting obsessed with cleaning, even going so far as to moving Maw Maw because she is never clean for too long. However, a family secret is soon revealed that changes everything.

14. What Up, Cuz?
Virginia's world is thrown for a loop when her cousin Delilah comes to visit with intentions of claiming her share of Maw Maw's fortune, thinking that Maw Maw has passed away, and to make things worse - she still has feelings for Burt. Jimmy panics when he loses Maw Maw while babysitting her.

15. Snip Snip
Sabrina and Virginia learn secrets about each other, prompting Sabrina to blackmail Virginia into keeping quiet. The family votes in favor of Burt getting a vasectomy, and Jimmy is in charge of getting Burt there.

16. Cultish Personality
Mike returns after going through a spiritual quest with a wife and her other three husbands in tow. Burt attempts to fix the relationship between his brother and Mike.

17.Mongooses
The Chance family goes to see a lawyer to get their wills done, and Burt is insulted when Jimmy chooses Sabrina over him. Meanwhile, Sabrina is overcome with emotion by the news, while Maw Maw thinks mongooses are infesting the household.

18. Cheaters
Maw Maw has a crush on a man she meets at Shelley's daycare. Jimmy takes Sabrina to see Wyatt after she suspects he might be cheating on her, and he results to drastic measures to win her back

Virginia and Burt try out a sleep-training book on Hope, while a whole new worlds opens up to Jimmy when his new girlfriend introduces him to an a special beverage

20. Everybody Flirts... Sometimes
The Chance family tries their luck at flirting when Burt's flirtatious manner is revealed. Sabrina and Jimmy compete tot become Barney's favorite employee, Virginia is being stalked by a coffee shop employee and Maw Maw starts giving away her possessions.

21. Baby Monitor
When Hope's baby monitor picks up a conversation between their neighbors, Virginia and Burt decide to meet the troubled couple. Meanwhile, Howdy's Market has a commercial competition with their rival store.

22. Don't Vote For This Episode
The Chance family flashes back to Jimmy's 18th birthday when Maw Maw kicked them out of the house, causing Jimmy to take solace at the grocery store and forcing Virginia and Burt to finally learn how to be adults.

1. Prodigy
In the second-season premiere, Jimmy is surprised to learn that he was once a talented singer until an accident involving a golf club shattered his dreams, so he enlists his family to help him get his creative juices flowing again. Pop singer Greyson Chance guest stars as a teenage Jimmy.

When Burt discovers information about Sabrina, he lets the family in on her secret. Embarrassed by her family she reluctantly introduces the Chance family to her father, Cap. Meanwhile Jimmy decides Hope should have rich friends and begs Sabrina to take him to her sister's party where Sabrina's insecurities become apparent.

3. Kidnapped
When a ponytailed hippie named Jack who kidnapped Burt twenty years ago unexpectedly pays the Chance family a visit, they discover that Burt's disappearance wasn't all it appeared. Meanwhile Jimmy's jealousy creeps out when Sabrina anxiously awaits a text from her boyfriend Wyatt.

4. Henderson, Nevada-Adjacent Baby! Henderson, Nevada-Adjacent!
Virginia, Burt, Jimmy and Sabrina head to Las Vegas to attend Virginia's cousin Delilah's wedding. Virginia is embarrassed that she didn't have the big wedding that her snooty cousin will have, so Burt attempts to make it up to her. Meanwhile, Jimmy tries to make a move on Sabrina who wants to go wild in Vegas

5. Killer Hope
Virginia, Burt, Jimmy, Sabrina, Maw Maw and Hope camp out on the front lawn after their house becomes tented for termites, but getting caught in the rain is the least of their problems. After learning that Hope hit a boy at day care, the family attempts to stop arguing out of fear that she will follow in her serial killer mom's footsteps.

6. Jimmy and the Kid
A thirteen-year-old kid makes a run for Sabrina, which drives Jimmy absolutely crazy. Meanwhile, Maw Maw swallows her gold tooth and Burt and Virginia contemplate retrieving it.

7. Burt's Parents
Jimmy, Virginia, Burt, Sabrina, Maw Maw and Hope borrow a house to impress Burt's wealthy parents (guest stars Lee Majors and Shirley Jones) who have decided at the last minute to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family. Things get interesting when the real homeowners return early, and Burt's folks get a taste of what life is really like for Burt and Virginia.

8. Bro-gurt
When the National Invention Convention Extravaganza comes to town, Virginia encourages the family to submit their own inventions that could bring home a large cash prize. Burt teams with the family's neighbor Andrew (guest star Ethan Suplee) and invents unusually flavored yogurts, while Jimmy partners with Sabrina to develop a new baby mop. When convention day arrives the competition between each team escalates as they pitch their inventions to Andrew Dice Clay. During the competition, the family ends up realizing family and friends are what matter the most.

9. The Men Of New Natesville
Burt encourages Jimmy to be more of a daredevil. So when Jimmy's co-worker, Frank, invites him to a house party, Jimmy jumps at the chance to unleash his bolder side. As Jimmy and his new pal spend more time together, they discover they shared a common high school bully. In a series of flashbacks, Jimmy and Frank look back at their unhappy high school years as Young Jimmy and Young Frank. But when the two try to take down their old nemesis, they're surprised to learn that the bully has changed.

10. It's A Hopeful Life
In a nod to the holiday classic "It's a Wonderful Life," the Chances go to the movies and are surprised when they discover that the film they're watching is strikingly similar to their own family life. Meanwhile, Jimmy is transported into a cinematic dreamlike state and experiences the world as though he never met Hope's serial killer mom Lucy. But when he returns to reality, he soon realizes that life without Hope would not be nearly as sweet.

11. Mrs. Smartypants
After Hope shows promising signs of being a baby genius, Jimmy becomes inspired to go back to school and prepare for the G.E.D. exam. But Jimmy is surprised to find his former high school teacher, Mr. Swift, instructing the G.E.D. class, and continuing to give Jimmy a hard time in the classroom. Meanwhile, Burt and Virginia worry that Jimmy could become the smartest family member if he passed the test, so they decide to take the G.E.D exam too. But they soon realize they'll need all the extra tutoring they can get.

12. Gambling Again
Burt becomes obsessed with gambling when he believes he can reclaim all the items he lost when he bet away all the Chance's belongings nearly 20 years ago. Worried about his bad habit reemerging, Virginia and Jimmy try to intervene but soon get swept up in the betting frenzy and develop their own gambling habit. But their luck begins to run out when they miss Shelley's staged play written by Sabrina and starring Hope as the lead.

13. Tarot Cards
Burt is buried in receipts and finances during corporate tax season, so he hires Barney as his business manager. Caught up in the stress, Burt makes a hurtful comment about Virginia's career, prompting her to seek a new business venture. But when Virginia becomes a tarot card reader and predicts the future for the residents of New Natesville, she realizes that her fortunes may have more power than she thinks. Meanwhile, Jimmy is on pins and needles as Sabrina decides whether or not to move to Africa with her boyfriend Wyatt.

14. Jimmy's Fake Girlfriend
Jimmy's spirits are low when Sabrina's relationship with Wyatt becomes serious, so Virginia and Burt convince him to create a make-believe girlfriend to make her jealous. Barney invites Jimmy to his improv class, where he meets Mary-Louise who agrees to play along with his plan to win over Sabrina. But when their acting becomes too convincing and Sabrina falls for their fake relationship, all plans might backfire on Jimmy.

15. Sheer Madness
As Jimmy and Sabrina's relationship continues to grow, they both begin to realize that they've been hiding some of their habits from each other. They agree to let their guards down and start acting like themselves completely, but when Sabrina reveals an unusual childhood phobia, Jimmy decides to help her overcome her fear in a startling way. Meanwhile, Burt reveals a habit he's been keeping from Virginia for years.

16. Single White Female Role Model
Sabrina is arrested after participating in an Occupy Natesville protest and is sentenced to two weeks in prison. One of the prison attendant's claims to be a friend from her past and will stop at nothing to make Sabrina's stay in the slammer as dreadful as possible until she remembers their childhood friendship. Meanwhile, the mayor of Natesville grants Virginia three wishes after she helps her avoid a public scandal, but when Jimmy turns down the mayor's advances, Sabrina's chances of being exonerated are put at risk.

17. Spanks Butt, No Spanks
When a raccoon decides to take residency under the Chance's porch, Virginia and Sabrina work together to try and lure the critter out. Meanwhile, Hope's misbehavior has become such an issue that Virginia and Burt suggest that it might be time for Jimmy to spank her, since it worked so well for them when he was younger. However, when Burt reveals a secret to Jimmy about his childhood, it answers unsolved mysteries and prompts a new outlook on teamwork and parenting.

18. Poking Holes in the Story
Virginia agrees to be a live-in house sitter for her client and look after a troublesome teenage girl. When she learns that the teen and her boyfriend are ready to take their relationship to the next level, she and Burt try to use their experience to convince them against it. But Burt makes a confession that comes as a surprise to Virginia. Meanwhile, Maw Maw once again confuses Jimmy with her late husband Wilfrid, so Jimmy and Sabrina play along.

19. Hogging All The Glory
When attention-seeking Sarah Louise announces her plans to run for another term as chairperson of the Natesville church group, Burt decides to run against her. To test Burt's ability to handle a community task, Sarah Louise assigns him pig-sitting duties for a blind church member. But when the guide pig accidentally becomes family dinner, Burt must find and train a replacement pig before Sarah Louise finds out and ruins his chances of being elected.

20. Sabrina's New Jimmy
When Jimmy finds out Sabrina has a new attractive study partner, Virginia convinces him that they are doing more than just studying. Meanwhile, Burt develops an obsession with a wall figurine.

21. Inside Probe
In a very special "mockumentary" episode, Nancy Grace examines the "real story" of Hope's mom, serial killer Lucy Carlisle. Grace interviews each member of the Chance family, all of whom relay personal accounts of exactly what happened when Jimmy met Lucy back in 2008. At the end of the program, the Chances are shocked to find out developing details about Lucy.

22. I Want My Baby Back, Baby Back, Baby Back
Following the revelations of the "Inside Probe" expose of their family history, the Chances are put on trial in a fight to retain custody of Hope.

1. Not Indecent, But Not Quite Decent Enough Proposal
Sabrina attends her grandmother's funeral, described by her mother as "the most despicable character". However, she was filthy rich. Is her will written in such a way as to require Sabrina to be married in order to inherit her fortune? Are there wedding bells in her and Jimmy's future?

A social worker visits the Chance house to investigate a claim, but when she spots some of the tactics the family employs to keep Maw Maw under control, she starts to suspect the Chances of elder abuse and threatens to take her away. Meanwhile Sabrina and Jimmy test the boundaries of their new engagement when Sabrina wants Jimmy to part with his beloved T-shirt.

The Chance family devises a ridiculously intricate plan to break Maw Maw out of a state-run nursing facility. The plan backfires when Virginia notices how gentle the staff is with Maw Maw, and begins to think that she might be better off in her new home. Meanwhile, Jimmy fears that he's destined to go crazy in his old age, and interrogates the other elderly patients for tips on staying sane.

4. If a Ham Falls in the Woods
Jimmy and Sabrina attend a marriage retreat lead by a priest before they get married. Not wanting to miss out on a free vacation, Virginia and Burt pose as a newly engaged couple, so they can attend too. It becomes a true family affair when Sabrina's mom Tamara and her young lover, Roberto, tag along. Meanwhile, Barney forgoes his birthday plans to babysit Maw Maw.

5. Don't Ask, Don't Tell Me What to Do
It's "Gay Christmas," a.k.a. Halloween, and Sabrina asks Jimmy to hang out with her gay best friend and his partner. But first, Jimmy asks Burt to do some recon by spending time at the local gay bar. When Burt keeps going back to the bar, Virginia wonders if he's enjoying his time there a little too much and tracks him down in costume on Halloween night.

6. What Up, Bro?
When Jimmy finds a childhood photo of himself with an older boy and a family he doesn't know, Burt reveals that he and Virginia gave him up for adoption for a short time when they were teen parents. Jimmy recruits Sabrina to forge a scheme to meet and bond with his would-have-been big brother Brad. Meanwhile, Virginia and Burt question their decision to take Jimmy back when the would-be adoptive parents turn out to be affluent and nurturing.

7. Candy Wars
When Natesville holds its annual Thanksgiving Radish Harvest Festival, Jimmy is determined to sell the most candy bars around town, so that Hope can ride atop the town's Thanksgiving Day float. But when Jimmy doesn't sell enough to win the contest, Virginia and Maw Maw unveil a dark, mafia-inspired family secret that could lead the Chances to victory

When the annual Angry Bowel Syndrome (ABS) 1K walk comes to Natesville, the Chance family decides to band together and support the cause that Jimmy suffered from as a child. Meanwhile, Burt and Virginia start to feel the effects of aging, and Jimmy struggles to support Sabrina in a fight with her ex-boyfriend when she is clearly in the wrong.

9. Squeak Means Squeak
Jimmy confronts Sabrina about only doing the "fun stuff" with Hope, and none of the heavy lifting of parenthood. Sabrina gets the chance to prove him wrong when Jimmy joins Barney as a Natesville Auxiliary cop for the day, and leaves her with Hope. Meanwhile, Virginia and Burt are determined to capture a squirrel that has been harassing all of the other squirrels in the neighborhood.

10. The Last Christmas
Like the Mayans, Virginia is convinced that the world is going to end on December 21, 2012, so she uses her extreme couponing skills to stock up on supplies and forces the family to train for the apocalypse. Meanwhile, Jimmy is determined to give Hope the best Christmas he can, since it will likely be the first one she remembers and Maw Maw tries to knock a few more items off her bucket list before the end of the world.

11. Credit Where Credit Is Due
When Jimmy and Sabrina decide to buy a new car that will be safer for Hope, they discover that Jimmy has a rock-bottom credit score that dates back to when he was a child. Burt and Virginia confess that they had maxed out a credit card in Jimmy's name, and plead with their bank representative Dennis to clear his debt, even if it means giving up their new DeLorean.

12. Lord of the Ring
Burt tells Jimmy that he needs to buy Sabrina a nice engagement ring, even if she claims she doesn't need one, so Jimmy starts volunteering for a series of exotic medical experiments to come up with the cash. Meanwhile Virginia has been pawning her engagement ring for years behind Burt's back to pay for odds and ends. But when Jimmy visits the pawnshop and falls in love with his own mom's ring, her secret may be out.

13. What Happens At Howdy's Doesn't Stay At Howdy's
Frank wants to throw Jimmy a memorable bachelor party, but Jimmy resists the idea, citing the crazy things that tend to happen when he goes wild (such as impregnating serial killers). But, when Sabrina convinces him to cut loose, things get a little out of control and Frank reveals an ulterior motive for encouraging Jimmy's outlandish behavior.

14. Modern Wedding
The wedding day is finally here and Sabrina's mom has hired the camera crew from "Modern Family" to capture the whole blessed event. But a series of catastrophes threatens to ruin the day, including a battle between Maw Maw and Reverend Bob. So Burt and Virginia scramble to save the ceremony and keep Jimmy and Sabrina in ignorant, matrimonial bliss.

15. Yo Zappa Do (1)
The "Modern Family" camera crew are hired by Sabrina's mom to film her marriage to Jimmy, but Maw Maw's clash with the reverend could ruin the day. In the second half hour, Jimmy and Sabrina get a wedding present from Barney that entails an excursion to Los Angeles for a taping of Hope's favorite TV show, "Yo Zappa Do," but Jimmy's fear of flying means it's a road trip for the whole family.

When Hope and Jimmy start working on 'Yo Zappa Do,' the show's star makes Jimmy's life miserable; Virginia and Burt learn that the contents of their storage locker -- including an incriminating home video -- are up for auction.

When Burt and Virginia discover that their storage locker is up for auction, they also realize they have misplaced a personal and incriminating home video that has fallen into the hands of another couple. Meanwhile, Sabrina tries to get to the bottom of Jimmy's epic sleepwalking habit.

The Ghost of Arbor Day Past, Present and Future pays a visit to Sabrina in the middle of the night, after she takes a stand against the way the Chance family celebrates the tree-themed holiday.

The Chances' birthday party for Hope gets a lift from former rock star Smokey Floyd and a group of Natesville residents. In the second half-hour, Sabrina's new pal happens to be Jimmy's ex-girlfriend who broke his heart when they were teens.

Virginia thinks that Burt is getting her an expensive gift for their 25th anniversary. So she decides to take him to a dude ranch that is run by a crazy cowboy. But Burt isn't able to enjoy himself, because of a secret he is keeping from Virginia.

16. The One Where They Get High
Maw Maw has found a new love, Hubert, who encourages her to engage in some reckless activity. When Virginia finds herself scolding Maw Maw, she fears she's become a lame adult and wants Burt to do more risk-taking activities with her. Jimmy and Sabrina follow suit when they find themselves spying on their own babysitter.

17. Baby Phat
Burt and Virginia are in desperate need of a vacation and, at Barney's suggestion, head to a resort for a little R&R. But the "resort" turns out to be a different kind of place than they were hoping for. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Sabrina decide they want to have a baby.

18. Dinner with Tropes
Virginia's boss, Louise, begins grooming her for the role of regional sales manager. But when Virginia sees what her boss' job is really like, she has second thoughts. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Sabrina are worried about Hope's lack of compassion when she feels no sadness over the death of her pet fish, and Burt and Virginia perform at the Natesville Telethon.

19. Para-natesville Activity
Virginia stops believing in magical things, but second guesses herself when a ghost appears in their house. When Burt discovers that Jim Hughes has secretly been living in their house's bomb shelter, Burt and Jim play along with Virginia's antics in order to make her believe in the paranormal again. Meanwhile, Burt and Virginia learn some news about Jim that scares them straight.

20. Man’s Best Friend
When Virginia and Burt realize they are suffering from "empty nest syndrome," Sabrina suggests they adopt a dog. But when they are turned down by the pound, they are given a trial period as dog owners with Michael, who ends up overstaying his welcome at the Chance's home.
Meanwhile, Jimmy tries to prove to Sabrina that he's still a ladies man, even when he doesn't have Hope with him to attract women.

21. How I Met Your Mullet
Jimmy and Sabrina get a surprise when they learn that Sabrina's late grandmother has left them the family maid, who has a lifetime contract with the family. Meanwhile, Virginia gets a promotion at work that allows Burt to retire and pursue his passion - even if he doesn't know what his passion is. Then, Virginia's father, Arnold, returns to Natesville seeking help in planning his upcoming wedding. But Arnold surprises everyone when he reveals that the wedding Virginia has planned is really for her and Burt - the dream wedding they never got to have as teen parents.
