The first episode was OK, I'm glad he went back to the bar and they knew what they were getting in to before the fight but how can he turn down a $10 million purse when he's broke
Author: bala    Time: 1-12-2011 08:54     Subject: Reply 2#2 codebreaker's post

Yes those guys did get what they deserve but he had no choice but to turn it down because even if he's broke at least he has his sanity and if he does go through he could get worse injuries but i like how they show all different event in flashback mode near to the end so that we knew what he did.

Well slightly slower episode but his wife not knowing money problem and his dementia but his oldest daughter knows was good thanks internet search engines. I like that this typical boxing drama focus on his family but how long can he keep it up?
Author: codebreaker    Time: 1-19-2011 05:10     Subject: Reply 4#4 bala's post

I like the way they drop little hints about his dementia like forgetting where the car was and it's nice that his oldest daughter knows and has confronted him but asking her not to tell her mother was wrong
Author: bala    Time: 1-19-2011 09:29     Subject: Reply 5#5 codebreaker's post

I think she tell her soon

Well Omar was cocky boxer and you just knew it wasn't going end well but just when you think he was going to win the match he let his guard down with punch he lost the fight .

I liked the story to her young daughter about how she first meet their dad and Omar was to arrogant but surviving ten rounds was impressive
Author: bala    Time: 1-26-2011 04:16     Subject: Reply 8#8 codebreaker's post

Yes that's thanks talk in storage room if that didn't happen he wouldn't last 10 rounds.

Forgetting the golden rule to keep his right up was his downfall but the head slaps at the start was funny
Author: bala    Time: 1-26-2011 04:45     Subject: Reply 10#10 codebreaker's post

it's a shame he didn't pay attention to that lesson slap was teaching moment he didn't even bother taking it in.

How embarrassing to be told your card had to be confiscated in front of everyone and he was lucky in the cage fighting to a different set of rules or was there any rules
Author: bala    Time: 2-3-2011 12:55     Subject: Reply 15#15 codebreaker's post

It didn't seem like any rules anything went

Well another good episode but the daughter should of told her mother when they were discussing him going back in the ring and him asking his daughter to grow up and understand he has no choice.. i can see how angry when she finds out that he forced their daughter to keep it a secret

He was lucky in the car accident but his brother letting him use his car was crazy and that news reporter was starting to be a hand full

Did the brother know about his double vision?

Well he was very lucky in that fight only lasted 2 rounds but i think his dad is right and glad he gave him ultimatum regarding his next fight.

He was lucky to pass the eye test and using water to increase his wait was crafty but i feel sorry for Daniella having to keep her dad's secret, what a come back in round 2 after the dirty fighting in round 1

Ava pulling the knife on Ed thinking the worst of him was amusing but Ed's different style of training should be interesting

Well that's going to put him back few week recover from getting cut
Author: codebreaker    Time: 3-9-2011 12:49     Subject: Reply 29#29 bala's post

It was only a matter of time before Ed would comes between Lights and his family but trust his brother to stab him
Author: bala    Time: 3-9-2011 12:53     Subject: Reply 30#30 codebreaker's post

That will make the fight more difficult he really can't get a break i almost feel sorry for him

Well he got rematch after that punch up but Brennan dating Light's sister was intresting revelation.
Author: codebreaker    Time: 3-16-2011 17:09     Subject: Reply 32#32 bala's post

I liked the way Light's waited for him to throw the first punch but the kids watching on the computer was amusing
Author: bala    Time: 3-23-2011 10:00     Subject: Rainmaker

Well that was smart move using other boxer to beat up the congressman when it look like it was Lights.
Author: codebreaker    Time: 3-24-2011 11:41     Subject: Reply 34#34 bala's post

That was sad about the former champ, Jerry "The Rainmaker" Raynes and the councilman trying to get Lights on tape about the cake box full of cash from Brennan was a dirty trick but getting Jerry to shut him up was a clever move

FX Cancels 'Lights Out' After One Season

FX has decided not to renew freshman boxing drama Lights Out for a second season. Lights Out was one of the most critically praised new series this season, punctuated by a breakout performance by Holt McCallany as the title character, a washed-out former heavyweight champion looking for a comeback. But, just like with FX's now-defunct drama Terriers last fall, Lights Out never found traction in the ratings, leading to FX's decision to cancel it after one season. It premiered in January with 1.5 million viewers, 793,000 of them in the adults 18-49 demographic, and slipped even further throughout its run. The final two episodes of Lights Out will air as scheduled March 29 and April 5 in the series' Tuesday 10 PM time period.

Well meeting his mother was sad the fact that she only returned for the money.   .What is Brennan playing at ?  what does mean by Barry will be gone?-Is he planning on killing him?
Author: codebreaker    Time: 3-30-2011 13:53     Subject: Reply 38#38 bala's post

I'm glad he figured out what his mother was up to and breaking his hand was the icing on the cake but was the black eye fake considering he was in pain from one broken hand and $20'000 was rather generous

Well it was obvious who was going win since the show is about him but i figured what would happen at end with him forgetting where he was
Author: codebreaker    Time: 4-8-2011 12:03     Subject: Reply 40#40 bala's post

I suppose Lights had to win especially with Death Row being so confident he was going to win but the ref seemed to have been working for Death Row but after the hammering in the first round I'm not surprised it affected his brain

I watched a couple of episodes of this show - overall not bad. Hopefully 2nd season will show improvement.

Oh really....not surprised about that! It's a amazing it got through a whole season!
Author: Milks26    Time: 1-3-2015 13:26

Watched the entire series two days ago - predicable to the end. The series follows the plot of most boxing movies out there - everyone's wants a taste or dip their hand in the fighters' wallet.

Not surprised it did not last.
