Pan Am Premieres on ABC on September 25, 2011

Passion, jealousy and espionage... They do it all – and they do it at 30,000 feet. The style of the 1960s, the energy and excitement of the Jet Age and a drama full of sexy entanglements deliciously mesh in this thrilling and highly-original new series.

In this modern world, air travel represents the height of luxury and Pan Am is the biggest name in the business. The planes are glamorous, the pilots are rock stars and the stewardesses are the most desirable women in the world. Not only are these flyboys and girls young and good looking, but to represent Pan Am they also have to be educated, cultured and refined. They're trained to handle everything from in-air emergencies to unwanted advances – all without rumpling their pristine uniforms or mussing their hair. There's Dean (Mike Vogel) – a cocky, charismatic and ambitious new pilot – the first of a new breed not trained in the war. On the sly against company policy, he's dating Bridget, a stunning beauty with a mysterious past. A rebellious bohemian, Maggie (Christina Ricci) turns into a buttoned up professional for work so she can see the world. Rounding out the crew are flirtatious Colette (Karine Vanasse), the adventurous Kate (Kelli Garner) and, finally, Laura (Margot Robbie) – Kate's beauty queen younger sister, a runaway bride, who recently fled a life of domestic boredom to take to the skies.

I'm not quite sure of this show at the moment considering it's set in the sixties so it reminds me a little of Mad Men but with the disappearance of Bridget it has potential

I enjoyed it.  Thought it was great.  Really fit with the time. Love the CIA/MI6 angle.  Good stuff!!

I'm biased though...

Kate and Laura having their mom as a surprise passenger was interesting and Maggie facing the unwanted attentions of an aggressive passenger was unfortunate but i think she got her point across that she wasn't apart of his first class ticket

What really got me, was that it was "okay" for the guy to paw all over her but not okay for her to defend herself,.  You paw at me now and i'll send your butt to federal prison with something broken.    Loved how she gave the FO (first officer) her opinion at the hotel.  That guy is a jerk.

I agree, what a leech. I don't think I would have been able to handle those times. Lets just say I wouldn't have been as restrained. Even in the work place women put up with an awful lot of bs back in those days.

I was glad she made him feel bad. He should have defended her.

So this was a great episode.  We finally saw different facets of the charaters.  It wasn't on the plane the whole time and there was excitement.

Kinda bummed Maggie didn't get to shake Kennedy's hand though.

I'm glad we found out what Colette was upset about and dressing Anke as a stewardess was a good idea but Maggie should of been arrested running after Kennedy like that but she looked happy with the wave

Laura taking the camera made the routine courier mission for Kate turns bad as she struggles to make the drop by the deadline and Ted reflection on his own past was interesting but what his father did was wrong

I really liked Ted's back story. It's made me like him and I didn't really him all that much before.

This was a really slow episode for me.  Her chasing the ring.  The FO getting it back for her.  That was well done of him.  Kinda liking him.  I would love to see more Collette though...

The captain hooking up with the VP's Mistress was funny.  They did a good job laying under the radar!

Maggie going for the attentions of Niko was interesting untill Kate learns the stranger is involved in her next covert mission which makes things more complicated and it's a good job she could play pool but Ginny finding Dean's key was lucky

The captain is going to be in a lot of trouble...

The way the pilot's left the cockpit when they thought Kate was taking her cloths off for the sailors was amusing considering it wasn't Kate wearing them and what happened to Joe because he was with Laura was sad

Well i watched this on TV last night and i liked the episode i thought like you it would be like mad man but the first episode kept my interest like the fact that one of them has been recruited to be a spy was a surprise. I felt bad for the french one finding out her boyfriend had a family but like how his wife confronted her at end of the flight. The flashbacks were interesting. Glad i decided check this out. Now i just need to find time watch it.

Interesting Documentary from the BBC telling the story of how Pan American World Airways which kick started the Jet Age and shrank the globe and the story about Frank Abagnale Jr., who, before his 19th birthday, successfully performed cons worth millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot which was great and i didn't realise it was the Pan Am Flight 103 that crashed in Lockerbie

What an impressive emergency landing considering how late they were to switch the runway lights and tragic that Henry didn't survive after all their efforts to save him but taking the refugee meant they saved her life instead and the take off was awesome

Well i am surprised Laura didn't even noticed suspicious behaviour of her sister you would think she would noticed her strange behaviour over past couple of episodes. Ted back story was good but he really let his anger get the better of him and there are loads people in positions that there are not what they suppose to be in but he did land the plane safely that's something he had right to be proud of that. I am glad he forgave him at the end.

Maggie Journey to become a member Pan Am was rather impressive from waitress to air hostess was great. How comes some people lie and get a better job while other people who try get caught and there were some close call but using personal information to save her job was impressive.

You just knew Richard would want Kate to do something when they made their first-ever commercial flight to Moscow but the other girls getting arrested for taking photos was a little harsh and refusing to fly until the girls were back was nice

I'm not surprised that Laura was upset when she found out the Magazine photographer, Graham, sold the nude photos he took of her to a gallery but the were very tasteful and she did look hot and who would of thought when Colette befriended the mysterious man he would be a prince and not a smuggler like Dean thought, the new bulletin about the Kennedy assassination attempt was an interesting way to end

ABC aired it incorrectly. Lots of people talking about the mess up on various forums. Apparently it should have aired as Episode 7. Awful mistake!

Charlie was a very bold pickpocket for a young kid and the young couple were getting some attention but deliberate turbulence to get them out the toilet was clever, Ginny putting her head through the window was crazy and Laura posing for Graham makes it obvious this episode is out of order

Amanda proposal to Ted regarding Laura as a mistress was bizarre and saying she was pregnant was sneaky, it's a good job Maggie was at the diamond deal and what a surprise for Colette finding out the truth about her family
Author: bala    Time: 2-27-2012 10:29     Subject: Reply 53#53 codebreaker's post

Yeah Colette would never know her family history if she wasn't dating him
Author: Milks26    Time: 5-4-2017 13:53

With the exception of Christina Ricci as Maggie and Karine Vanasse as Colette (loved the actress since Revenge) this show was badly cast. The co-pilot's age was okay, but the role of the pilot should've been aged by 10 years.
