Jack Irish Premieres on ABC 1 on October 14, 2012



Jack Irish (Guy Pearce) is a man getting his life back together again. A former criminal lawyer whose world imploded, he now spends his days as a part-time investigator, debt collector, apprentice cabinet maker, punter and sometime lover – the complete man really. An expert in finding those who don’t want to be found – dead or alive, Jack helps out his mates while avoiding the past. That is until the past finds him.

Jack’s world revolves around the racetrack, the local pub and the artisan woodwork shop where he’s apprenticed himself to a master craftsman. But a phone call from an old client first arouses his curiosity, then preys upon his sense of justice; and sets Jack on a path which he doggedly pursues. From bent cops to identical twin thugs, political leaders to investigative journalists, suddenly everyone seems to want a piece of Jack Irish.

Adapted from the celebrated novels by Peter Temple – Bad Debts and Black Tide –the award-winning Jack Irish books have been acclaimed by critics; loved for their thrilling storylines, eclectic characters, underlying humour and most of all for being ‘wonderfully, quintessentially Australian’. The scripts have been written by Andrew Knight (Rake, After the Deluge, SeaChange) and Matt Cameron (Crashburn, SeaChange).

Led by Emmy award-winning actor Guy Pearce, an outstanding cast of Australia’s best talent feature in the telemovies including Aaron Pedersen, Marta Dusseldorp, Diana Glenn, Don Hany, Shane Jacobson, Roy Billing, Colin Friels, Steve Bisley, Damien Richardson, Alexandra Schepisi, Rhys Muldoon, Martin Sacks, Colin Hay, Emma Booth and international award-winner, the late Vadim Glowna.

Well this was better one out of the two episodes but what a way to lose his girlfriend . I am not surprised he decided to go into private investigation but having his place blown up was amusing considering in next episode it seems come back untouched.

What a way to get Jack's attention by killing his girlfriend and then himself but with a familiar Aussie cast I thought this was interesting, how discussing having his shoes pissed on as a warning and what a horrible discovery in the sauna and hot tub, the pillow talk changing to the case was amusing as he was about to leave without finishing what he started and so glad there was a gun in the fire place

How on earth nobody noticed the car covered up in the car park with the dead bodies in it was bizarre as it stood out like a sore thumb and what scum bags beating up Charlie and smashing the workshop while looking for Jack, Jack was lucky when Dave tried to kill him and giving the memory card to Linda was a nice conclusion

Taking the car right under the police noses was amusing and loosing the helicopter tail was impressive but I was surprised Linda recognised Jack's prank phone call to the station and so much for taking it slow, that was an a great betting scam but what a shame she was beaten up for the money and I cant believe it was because of her daughter, planting the girls body in Jack's car was a hell of a way to warn him off but what a way to kill them all in the helicopter after being shot and left for dead

Jack asking the taxi to wait 5 minutes so he could have a quickie with Linda was amusing but I guess her dampening the moment with the thought of kids was deliberate, Tina getting attacked at the station was bold and the text putting her friend in danger was unfortunate but Jack being hire to fined someone so they could kill him was devious

Sending the dogs after Tina was a little predictable as there was no way they would just let her go after being abducted at the station and that was some beating Jack got

Jack getting the call girl to dance for him was amusing and I'm guessing with what's left of his car she hit the truck and what a scam making the all hand over their phones before entering the club

Linda coming across that village that was destroyed at the start of the season was lucky as they left a survivor but the attack on her hotel was surprising and Sarah was putting her life in danger keep following the guys from the church but what they did was evil

Jack giving Linda a hard time after she came back to look after him was disappointing but I'm guessing he did it to try and keep her safe after the last killing which was a was of time with her going back abroad and Jack finding his two friends in his bed was amusing

You just knew Jack would get locked in the container but using a hand grenade to escape was crazy as it was full of weapons and who was behind Linda's abduction was surprising, Jack was lucky to get away from the dogs and if locking the guy in the portable loo wasn't bad enough tipping it over was karma
