American Odyssey Premieres on NBC on April 05, 2015



From writer-director Peter Horton ("Grey's Anatomy") and writers Adam Armus and Kay Foster ("The Following") comes "American Odyssey," a complex journey through global politics, corporate espionage and military secrets involving three strangers who only have one thing in common... the truth. In this "Traffic"-like action drama, an international cover-up explodes when the lives of a female Special Forces soldier, a disillusioned corporate lawyer and a political activist from a privileged family unexpectedly collide.

After a team of American soldiers battles jihadists in North Africa, they're shocked to learn that they've stumbled upon and killed Al Qaeda's top commander. Sergeant Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel, " Pushing Daisies"), a soldier, mother, wife and the unit's only female member, discovers computer files that prove a major U.S. corporation is funding the jihadists. But before she can tell anyone, her team is attacked and killed. The world is told that the unit was wiped out by enemy militants, but the truth is that Odelle survived and is the only witness to her unit's true assassins: private military contractors - Osela (think "Blackwater").

As Odelle struggles to survive and find her way home, in New York, former U.S. attorney turned corporate litigator Peter Decker (Peter Facinelli, "Nurse Jackie") finds himself embroiled in a merger with the same company that funded the jihadists. As Peter begins to connect the corrupt dots of this company's terrorist involvement, Harrison Walters (Jake Robinson, "The Carrie Diaries"), a political activist and trust fund kid, meets a hacker, Bob Offer (Nate Mooney, "The Riches"), who claims to have unearthed a massive military-industrial-complex cover-up. And Bob is right: he's stumbled onto the same cover-up that Odelle discovered, which will soon become a national headline with lethal implications. The only way they'll ever save their country, their families and themselves is by joining forces and exposing the people behind it.

I really want this show to be successful but you just know something like this won't have no chance of surviving on NBC. This was good start to the series she was lucky to survive but the boy was smart putting her picture on Al Jazeera so that everyone knows she alive

Odelle making a copy of the  incriminating computer files was quick thinking and going for a piss saving her life was lucky but it looks like the others were killed for what they found, the kid posting the photo after trying to ring home was lucky

I thought that boy was going to give Odelle away but that was a close call as there was nowhere to run but killing his father was tragic and Peter taking copies of those files was asking for trouble as they are willing to kill to keep it quiet

Aslam getting shot picking up the flash-drive was sad especially as he eventually lost it and Peter having the journal in his car was asking for trouble

I sometimes wonder how she will ever get  to the states consider she has entire Army against her . There's a difference between creating a show where odds are against you compared to creating a show where it's mission impossible .

Telling Ron that Odelle body was unrecognisable before Frank managed to kill her was careless but her getting him first was karma and the African army blowing the wall out could of easily killed her instead

With Odelle being unable to phone home going to the reporter was going to be risky and Peter being ambushed by his daughters boyfriend was pushing his luck

What a stroke of luck the jeweller got the date wrong on the wedding ring and what a tragedy the reporter didn't go upstairs to see the video before he was attacked and Peter is getting himself in too deep

What a shame for Bob finding his mother like that and I'm glad Odelle was the one to kill Frank as it would of ruined Aslam's life but Ruby being the one who killed Harrison's father not going to end well

That was one strange hallucinogenic trip Odelle was taken on and Peter should think himself lucky he was only fired as the others were killed, Ruby getting herself killed by police was surprising but you knew it wouldn't end well for her and you just knew Odelle wouldn't play dead for long

They had me going for a while but i figured it was all fake by the time they sent other guy packing . Ruby really proved she loved him and it was her only way out .

You can't blame Aslam for wanting to make his own plans for his future and you can't blame Odelle for wanting to go back home but it's going to put her whole family at risk and trust the girl on the beach to take her photo

Your right Aslam had right to make his own plans but i thought that girl was a trick put up by the guy to make him stay but him kissing Odelle was very amusing not really great timing on his part

Odelle making it to reporter was a surprise especially when General asked her to give him 15 minutes but the fact that she still went through with it despite the risk was impressive but poor Aslam thinking he was going to America . He must really be hurt after all that he went through

Sgt. Odelle “Call Me Isabel Rainey” Ballard’s American Odyssey has in fact come to an end.   
Executive producer Peter Horton shared the “heartbreaking” news on Twitter late Tuesday, two days after the season finale. American Odyssey premiered on Easter Sunday to 5.4 million viewers and a 1.2 demo rating, retaining about half of its A.D. lead-in. It soon enough plunged to a 0.5 in the demo, and for six out of its last eight airings mustered just a 0.4.

I've never watched it, but the trailer made it look really intresting though. I'll catch up with it someday.

They also cancelled AD the Bible continues.

Odelle giving the General ten minutes after what he did was surprising but still going through with her interview was taking a risk after what he said and the reunion with her family was bitter sweet as she had to go on the run without them

The thirteen episodes kept me interested and a second season to prove she wasn't a traitor would of been a better conclusion

NBC are never good with these type of shows which why i love USA network they know how to treat shows.
