As you can see from the new cast shot above, there are some new faces on board for the next run. Laila Rouass will play Egyptologist Sarah Page(Egyptology is a big part of the stories in series three), while regular readers will already be familiar with new security chief Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield).

Not pictured but a huge new character is Danny Quinn (Jason Flemyng), a copper who works his way into the team following an incident involving his brother. Finally, real-life wife of Ben Miller, BelindaStewart-Wilson, has a recurring role as a high ranking government official who makes life difficult for Lester.

Producer Tim Bradley teases at what else we can look forward to in series three.

How is work coming on the new series?
"I came on board for series three - I didn't do the first two - in December 2007, then scripts started arriving in February this year and we started shooting in April. We completed shooting towards the end of October and we're now in post-production."

What's different about series three?
"If I'm absolutely honest, we're making slightly tighter use of everything that's been set up in the first two series to drive the journey. In each episode we've tried to vary the creatures, so some will be different from those you've seen before. There will still be prehistoric creatures, like our G-Rex (Giganotosaurus), but there are a couple of other creatures you wouldn't imagine we would have in this show. It's easy to get a bit stale though: a creature will come through and terrify people, then either it gets shot, lured or kicked back through an anomaly. So we're changing that a bit. Also we do have a little more character development this series, and we do have some very dramatic plot points and a different grouping of characters. So the energy's there and we'll have a lot more story."

Last year we had creatures wreaking havoc in an office block, a shopping centre and a theme park. What sort of setups do we have this series?
"Our action scenes are very full-on this series. We have a scenario at an airport, with a G-rex running everywhere, and we have an Egyptology story, as well as a big sequence in the Arc!"

Is the Helen Cutter (Juliet Aubrey) storyline continuing throughout the series?
"It would be fair to say that Helen Cutter has got quite a big agenda this year but you will see that come in and out. We do also have some dark horses this year that might take the series to a crashing conclusion!"

I hear the final three episodes will be set in a Future world. What can we expect from that?
"It will be a sort of green and blue pleasant land. It will be quite an interesting place to be, a wonderment! There will be elements of Futureworld that connect us to the present day, so it won't feel totally alien, but it might feel that our team are in a very strange place. The big series arc, which I don't want to say too much about, will unfold there. Arriving in Futureworld is a progression of the show- what is Nick Cutter's world about? What is his quest? And where does that take him?"

Have you prepared for a possible fourth series?
"I think it would be fair to say there is a definite cliffhanger at the end of the series. We place our team in a dire situation that requires resolving. We're very positive about series four, and I know that Peter Fincham (ITV director of television) has said he very much likes what he's seen of series three, so if there is a series four the cliffhanger will be picked up and taken forward."

Author: magic4u    Time: 5-23-2009 23:45     Subject: Reply 33#33 bala's post

The term spoiler was introduced in the early days of the internet, on the internet, and is often associated with specialist Internet sites and in newsgroup postings. Early rules of netiquette insisted that spoilers could and should be normally avoided, but if the posting of "spoiling" information was unavoidable, it be preceded by a warning ("SPOILER!"), or the spoiler itself has to be masked so that it can not be visible to any but those keen for details and not fazed at the thought of such potentially plot-revealing information. Sometimes, these warnings are omitted, accidentally or deliberately (see below), and some unwitting readers have had literature, films, television programmes and other works that they were looking forward to experiencing "unspoiled".[1]

There is among internet users a socially unique but pointedly expressed insistence on being protected from material considered to include "spoiler" information by website operators or forum moderators, even in the internet version of settings where such material has conventionally and historically appeared, such as discussion groups or literary reviews. As a result of this level of objection to spoilers, trolls may post them purely for their own pleasure – finding amusement in believing they are completely ruining a narrative experience for others. On reputable websites, these can be reported to moderators and such posts taken down, the posters blacklisted, but only after the fact. Conversely, many who wish to discuss a fictional work in depth, including the outcomes of events and the handling of the narrative resolution, feel compelled to avoid participating on public websites altogether, set up "closed" websites to exclude those who are sensitive about spoilers, or unilaterally blog at the expense of public exchange

I Think if something is posted about an eppy before vip uploads it we should write it in white so others know it is an advanced spoiler.  IMO

great eppy? do you think they made the preditors?
Author: carlorica    Time: 5-25-2009 05:18

I don't think they made the predators because if you remember they took them back to the past and other times they have showed up. I just think that the predators have been around and in hiding until the future where they take it over.

I think Helen dropped her gadget and the other one the batteries died and in the time zones they are in it shouldn't be possible to fix them
Author: gabsimom    Time: 5-31-2009 05:50

Wow welI think it obvious how they will get home and find each other. they should get the future arc device and bring it back to study it.
Author: carlorica    Time: 6-1-2009 04:33

I love this show. It was a great season and lets hope the Helen does not come back. I also hope the show comes back next season. It would be nice for them to take a bunch of batteries and power the future arc. I think the next season should be on discovering how the predators came to be.

Author: grah3    Time: 6-16-2009 05:53     Subject: primeval is cancelled

guys, it looks like primeval is not coming back for a 4th season in foreseeable future anyway.
read below

ITV cancel Primeval

Primeval will not be returning for a fourth year, after budget cuts at ITV has meant the channel will not be producing drama for broadcast before the watershed.

A source close to the Primeval production team told Total Sci-Fi that "Basically ITV have changed their policy about drama before 9pm in that they've decided they really don't want any, at least not of the quality and cost of Primeval. The show remained as popular this run (in terms of audience share) as ever before but the fact is that everyone knows ITV have money problems and they've decided that whatever drama budget they've got left is better spent after 9pm. It's a great shame as Primeval was bringing new viewers to ITV who will now only be served by the BBC, but there's nothing we can do about that.

"At the point where we finished the third series, we had every reason to believe we would be doing a fourth. Had we known there was any likelihood of cancellation, clearly we wouldn't have left half the cast marooned up a tree in the distant past. We can understand that some fans might be frustrated by this ending and we're sorry for that. It certainly wasn't our plan to leave things so uncertain. That said, some fans may know that there are ongoing talks for both a film and a North American series version of Primeval and if and when those projects come to fruition we will make every effort to carry on the story in a suitable way.

"Obviously we're devastated that things should end this way with ITV. But we're absolutely certain that although this stage of its evolution seems to be over, Primeval isn't dead. We're very proud of what we've achieved over the past three years and we have every intention of keeping Primeval alive in other ways."

This is great to hear. The last ep left you with such a cliff hanger that it needed to be finished. The only prob is we have to wait until 2011 to see it.
