Fox plans 'X-Men', 'Daredevil' revivals
20th Century Fox is considering reviving its X-Men and Daredevil franchises, according to Variety.
Due to the recent WGA strike, Fox struggled to move big budget films into production in time for this summer's blockbuster season and is considering solving the problem for next year by revamping two of its Marvel superhero franchises.
The studio will reportedly discuss making a Young X-Men film and Deadpool, based on Ryan Reynolds's character in the upcoming Wolverine, at a strategy meeting.
A new Daredevil movie is also thought to be on the agenda. Ben Affleck previously played the blind comic book hero in a 2003 film.
However, despite the lack of summer blockbusters this year, producer J.C. Spink suggested that Fox should not alter its strategy.
"Just because it didn't work this summer doesn't mean they should change anything," he said. "Everyone has an off season. But look at how many summers in a row it has worked for them."
