About CANTERBURY'S LAW & Episode Guide

Never settle.

Canterbury's Law Aired From March 10, 2008 - April 18 On FOX

About the Show:
Canterbury's Law is a courtroom drama about a rebellious defense attorney, Elizabeth Canterbury (Julianna Margulies) who bends the law in order to protect the innocent falsely accused of crimes. Elizabeth is a hot-shot attorney on the rise, and often takes on risky, unpopular cases in order to advance her career.

Elizabeth and her husband Matthew (Aidan Quinn) carry the burden of their young son's mysterious disappearance and moved to Providence, Rhode Island in order to get away from the tragedy as an attempt to start fresh and put their relationship back together. But that proves hard to do when the cases Elizabeth takes on provide a constant reminder of the justice they never received in their own lives.

At the firm, Elizabeth has a staff of brilliant attorneys. Russell Cross (Ben Shenkman) was forced out of the Providence DA's office after going up against his morality-deprived boss, Zach Williams. Now, reputation shattered, Russell is taken in by Canterbury and provides her with a voice of reason, even when she refuses to listen. Also part of the crew are Chester Fields (Keith Robinson) and Molly McConnell (Trieste Dunn), associates who have very different backgrounds, but are equally good at what they do.

Canterbury's Law shows the hard path, from professional and personal battles, to haunting memories, that some take to find their inner-string and victory in order to help those in need.

Elizabeth takes on the case of Louis Minot who believes he can talk to the dead. He found the body of a man that's been missing for twenty years, as well as other bodies that are turning up. Elizabeth is the only one who believes he's innocent, but it may be because she wants to believe him when he says he has information about her missing son Sam. Elizabeth reveals something about Sam's abduction that she has never told anyone else before.

3. What Goes Around
D.A. Williams goes after Elizabeth for jury tampering while defending Ethan Foster. Chester and Russell get wind of D.A. Williams grand jury investigations and search warrants before Elizabeth even knows anything about it. Molly attempts to keep a secret from the rest of the firm while trying her first case. Matt and Elizabeth's personal issues come to a head in front of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees from Matt's school.

4. Sweet Sixteen
High schoolers Linda and Izzy are accused of soliciting murder for killing a classmate of theirs and it's up to Elizabeth, who is fresh out of an overnight jail stay for an indictment for jury tampering, to save them. Little does Elizabeth know, but Linda secretly switches lawyers and now blames Izzy for everything.

5. Trade-Off
Feeling defeated, Elizabeth is ready to make a deal with Deputy Attorney General Zach Williams and face jail time. She just doesn't want to be disbarred. Russell, Chester and Molly won't let her go down so easy, so they plan to use an old murder case against Deputy Attorney General Zach Williams.

6. Sick as Your Secrets
In the show's first season finale, Chester takes action when he finds out a little girl was disfigured by rats in a greedy slumlord's building. Molly gets her much anticipated bar exam results back, but is she officially a lawyer now? Elizabeth has always refused to defend a rapist, but she may not have a choice when the victim is conned into doing a drive time radio talk show.
