Happy Endings Aired From April 13, 2011 – May 03, 2013 On ABC

About the Show:
Forget who gets to keep the ring -- when a couple splits, the real question is, who gets to keep the friends? In this modern comedy, a couple's break-up will complicate all of their friends' lives and make everyone question their choices. When life throws you for a curve, hold on tight to the people you love. Every circle of friends has someone who's the gravitational center. For years, perfect couple Dave and Alex drew their friends in and held them together. Now that they've split, does this group have the stuff to stay together? Or do Max, Brad, Jane and Penny have to choose sides? Suddenly every event is a negotiation... like, who gets to go on the annual ski trip? There are a lot of big questions to be answered, but this group has been together so long, somehow, little by little, they'll figure out how to hold on, even though their center is split up. It helps that Dave and Alex have agreed to stay friends. But there will definitely be other complications down the road. This show isn't afraid to ask the embarrassing personal questions that inevitably arise in every long-term, close-knit group of friends.

Season 1

Episode 1: Pilot
Forget who gets to keep the ring - when a couple splits, the real question is, who gets to keep the friends? Alex and Dave's wedding was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives, for them and their long-time friends - until Alex leaves groom-to-be Dave at the altar. The breakup, in the words of one pal, is a "huge game changer" that will complicate everyone's lives and make everyone question their own choices.

Episode 2: The Quicksand Girlfriend
Dave's one-night-stand with Andrea lands him in "chicksand" as the hookup evolves into a relationship he's just not ready for yet. Jane, who thinks Alex is a terrible judge of people, can't keep herself from getting involved when her sister looks for a roommate now that Dave's moved out.

Episode 3: Your Couples Friends & Neighbor
Jane insists that she and Brad befriend a sophisticated couple, Dianne and Carl, but Brad resists the idea. Max and Dave can't figure out why food and other things are disappearing from their apartment. Alex confides to Max that Dave walks and eats in his sleep, but the truth is far stranger. Meanwhile, Alex starts dating a cute artist she just happens to meet hanging around Max and Dave's place.

Episode 4: Mein Coming Out
The gang tries to convince Max to come out to his parents when the two visit Chicago and Max has to scramble yet again to get one of the ladies to pose as his girlfriend. Meanwhile Penny meets the man of her dreams, Doug. He's good looking, funny, successful...and he's got a rather infamous last name.

Episode 5: Like Father, Like Gun
Brad's uptight dad is in town for some serious health tests. When he gets an all-clear, he cuts loose with a new lease on life, something Brad has a hard time adjusting to. Meanwhile Penny meets a gorgeous Italian guy; the problem is, he doesn't speak English, and Penny, who once studied in Italy, finds she can only speak the language when she's drunk.

Episode 6: Of Mice & Jazz-Kwon-Do
Brad tries to fix Max up with a guy from work, but Max is anything but grateful; Penny regrets inviting super competitive Jane along to her martial arts class; and everyone thinks that Dave hanging out to help Alex with odd jobs means that he's pining for his ex. . . What he's actually longing for is his comfortable old digs as he tries to adjust to living in Max's dicey apartment.

Episode 7: Dave of the Dead
Dave shocks everyone by quitting his job and plans to open a restaurant; Jane and Max face off in silly challenges; Penny is exhausted by trying to keep up with her new boyfriend's friends.

Episode 8: The Girl with the David Tattoo
Alex and Dave's his-and-hers tattoos come back to haunt them now that they're no longer a couple; jane meddles in Max's love life when she thinks he's passing on the perfect guy; and Brad takes a stand at Rosalita's against the world's worst waiter, with unexpected results.

Episode 9: You've Got Male
Dave is thrilled when the gang's old high school teacher, Alan, turns up, since he was a huge influence in his life. But when Penny goes out on a date with Alan, she realizes he's not the guy Dave thinks he is and worries he'll let her friend down. Meanwhile Max decides to organize a small business protest when a big coffee chain moves next to Alex's shop, not realizing that the new place is owned by Ian, the cute new guy he just started dating.

Episode 10: Bo Fight
Alex, at loose ends after the wedding fiasco, hijacks Penny for a series of "girls' night outs," including a cooking class with an obnoxious chef. Dave moves in with Max, who convinces him to hunt down the interloper who ruined his wedding . . . . if only either of them can sober up enough to remember his name. And Jane, fearful that she'll end up like her sister, talks husband Brad into a night on the town.

Episode 11: Barefoot Pedaler
Alex and Dave, determined to prove that they can co-exist in the same space, convince the rest of the gang to go to a Barefoot Pedaler concert, a band that was big in their college days. But things don't go as planned when members of Dave's old frat turn up and tell him they've seen the infamous wedding video; Jane gets progressively more drunk; Brad tries to avoid Alex and Dave's constant bickering; and Penny, who slept with a member of the band back in the day, is determined to go backstage.

Episode 12: The Shershow Redemption
A sudden invitation to the wedding of old friend Shershow, a notorious slacker, brings unexpected consequences; Brad and Jane discover something shocking about their own marital status; a depressed Penny convinces Derrick to pose as her fiancé; and Shershow's fiancée fears that Alex is the "wedding jinx".

Episode 13: Why Can't You Read Me?
When Jane thinks Alex is trying to steal her thunder with Jane's literacy group, their old sibling rivalry heats up. Meanwhile, Dave dates an attractive women's Lacrosse coach with a strange quirk, and Penny finally gets an assistant and is determined to be the "cool boss," with disastrous results.
