DCI Banks Premiered on ITV1 on September 27, 2010

DCI Banks is based on the successful detective novel written by crime writer Peter Robinson. The series stars Stephen Tompkinson as DCI Banks. Two young policemen are sent to a house following a report of a domestic disturbance and they end up discovering a horrific scene. DCI Alan Banks ends up being pushed to the absolute limits in the case after the identity of a serial killer has finally been revealed. His capture though is only the beginning of a shocking investigation.

The first series was known by the title DCI Banks: Aftermath. The second series saw the detective investigating more cases.

Wow what was reported as a domestic turned out to be a serial killer that killed one of the police attending and the other was lucky to survive but finding only four bodies after five girls go missing and to make thing worse the killer was in a coma until he died, looking forward the conclusion

Great concluding episode with a few twist like the surviving office being arrested for killing the killer and his accomplice girlfriend Lucy eventually giving up the location of the last girl and almost getting away with it on medical grounds

Annie not realising they were being watched from the trees was amusing but being the one to catch her considering the head start the other three had was impressive, the way all the fires started it could be anyone but i think it's the art expert who is using Annie as his alibi

Nice conclusion to last weeks episode and i was right about Mark the art expert but I didn't expect him to try and kill Annie and the fact he got away was disappointing

Annie going to see the victim who was discovered in her wheel chair with her throat having been cut and a disfigured face was sad but in the same place as a previously gruesome case for Banks was strange but recognising the coroner as the killer was a surprise and realising that the girl was Lucy Payne made sense for where she was killed, the ending was great looking forward to part two

The coroner description to how PC Templeton's throat was cut compared to Lucy's was interesting because we know she killed Lucy and Annie not being convinced about what she said was great and what a great conclusion

Another good episode with a couple of cases Alan doing an off book enquiry about the Chief Superintendent, Gerry's daughter who after being returned home is found beaten to death and the other case is just as strange when the upholstery is handed a bag of money but then robed outside and the robber turns up dead

What the Chief Superintendent, Gerry said to Alan made me think he was involved some how but the way his daughter died made it hard to believe, but how tragic that it was the mother who spiked the drugs meant for her unwanted daughter but was taken by Emily

DI Helen Morton taking over for DS Annie Cabbot while she is on maternity leave was interesting as she started by upsetting DCI Alan Banks's team when the murder of a young woman found in her car that leads to Alan being a suspect when his address is found in her clove-box but his bother being killed as well was tragic

The botched sting at the hotel was amusing as the girl got away with so many police on site but who would of thought it was over a fake adoption were they only wanted the babies organs to save another child

The murder of a local accountant was puzzling and Helen putting her foot in it with the victims daughter and wife was interesting as his wife did seem to of got over it rather quickly and the way Helen is trying to fit in with the other officers was never going to be easy

What a scum bag trashing the house while at the funeral and not checking the house was empty before he pulled a gun on Helen was careless but who would of thought the so called first murder was a set up and he was still alive and finishing playing poker with Helen was nice as it's what she likes to do

It was obvious after the murder of teenager Ellie that her drama teacher would be the main suspect but Banks promising her parents that they will bring the person responsible to justice was going to be tough as another young guy was seen torching a blue car

I thought Owen's missed trial was a blessing in disguise because I thought the guy who burnt the car was responsible but them both being not guilty was a surprise and to make things worse what was in the papers sent Owen over the top

The man and a woman claiming to be social workers was a sinister way for the child abduction but the fact they discovered drugs with only the boys fingerprints on was a surprise

Helen taking it out on everyone was understandable as her son had been arrested and Banks not noticing the ice-cream vans driving at night wasn't very professional but the boys abduction to save him from his drug dealing father was a surprise
