About ZERO HOUR (2013) & Episode Guides

Zero Hour (2013) Aired From February 14, 2013 - August 03, 2013 On ABC

About the Show:
As the publisher of Modern Skeptic Magazine, Hank Galliston has spent his career following clues, debunking myths and cracking conspiracies. But when his beautiful wife, Laila (Jacinda Barrett), is abducted from her antique clock shop, Hank gets pulled into one of the most compelling mysteries in human history, stretching around the world and back centuries.

Contained in one of his wife’s clocks is a treasure map, and what it leads to could be cataclysmic. It’s up to Hank to decipher the symbols and unlock the secrets of the map, while ensuring the answers don’t fall into the wrong hands -- hands that belong to a sinister, mysterious man known only as White Vincent (Michael Nyqvist). Now Hank, along with his two young associates, Rachel (Addison Timlin) and Arron (Scott Michael Foster), as well as alluring and intelligent FBI agent Rebecca “Beck” Riley (Carmen Ejogo), must embark on a breathless race against the clock to not only find his wife, but save humanity.

Everyone has a personal stake in this life and death mission, from Hank, the everyman whose destiny is more intertwined in this conspiracy than he ever imagined, to Laila, the warm and loving wife who refuses to simply be a pawn in this struggle, to “Beck,” the FBI agent with plenty of secrets of her own. White Vincent has interests far more grand than the treasure that lies at the end of the hunt – and a mysterious past connecting him to Hank in ways that go well beyond this game of cat and mouse. And while Arron is a sucker for a good conspiracy theory, Rachel relies more on her head and her heart to guide her beliefs. But as this story unravels, knowing what to believe – and more importantly, whom to believe -- becomes more and more difficult.

Zero Hour stars Anthony Edwards (Big Sur, Flipped, ER) as Hank Galliston, Carmen Ejogo (Sparkle, Chaos, Away We Go) as Rebecca "Beck" Riley, Scott Michael Foster (Californication, The River) as Aaron Martin, Addison Timlin (Californication) as Rachel Lewis with Jacinda Barrett (Matching Jack, Middle Men, New York, I Love You) as Laila and Michael Nyqvist (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Patrol) as White Vincent.

Zero Hour was created and written by Paul T. Scheuring (Prison Break) who is also an executive producer along with Zack Estrin, Lorenzo di Bonaventura (The Transformers, GI: Joe franchise, Salt, Red) and Dan McDermott (Human Target). The pilot for Zero Hour was directed and executive-produced by Pierre Morel. The series is produced by ABC Studios.

Season 1

Episode 1: Strike (Feb/14/2013)
It's a race against time for Hank Galliston after his wife, Laila, is abducted by the international terrorist "White Vincent". As the publisher of a paranormal enthusiast magazine, Modern Skeptic, Hank has spent his career debunking myths and investigating conspiracies. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, he is thrust into the middle of one of the biggest conspiracies in human history, sparked by his wife's discovery of an antique clock at a Brooklyn flea market -- a clock that possesses much more than the power to tell time. With help from FBI Agent Rebecca "Beck" Riley and his two young magazine staffers, Rachel and Arron, they set out on a journey to find Laila, but soon find their mission is much bigger than just saving one woman.

Episode 2: Face (Feb/21/2013)
An explosive start to Hank's search for his wife, Laila, brings him and "Beck" to a near-death confrontation with White Vincent, who slips away in the Canadian Tundra. Now faced with more questions than answers - not just about his wife, but about his own existence - the search is on for the next clock. Determined to unlock the next clue in the hope that it will bring him closer to understanding his past and the woman he loves, Hank and Beck set course for India, where Hank is confronted with a bombshell discovery. Meanwhile, Rachel and Arron chase another path, which reveals the final journey of the mysterious Rose Commandant.

Episode 3: Pendulum (Feb/28/2013)
With a renewed determination to find Laila, Hank returns from India, searching for new clues while Laila, who is being held hostage by White Vincent, is tasked with repairing the next clock for him. Knowing she needs to help Hank find her, she starts leaving a trail of clues for him to follow. In another face-to-face showdown with White Vincent, Hank begins to realize there is more to this connection than meets the eye -- or in this case White Vincent's eyes. Meanwhile, Hank's parents seem to be hiding a secret, and with help from the FBI, Hank, Arron and Rachel discover that a famous historical figure holds the key to unlocking the next clock.

Episode 4: Chain (Jun/15/2013)
White Vincent, wounded and in trouble, is still in hiding and holding Laila captive. Sensing his weakness and vulnerability, Laila convinces White Vincent to let her help him with his wounds, all the while looking for an opportunity to escape. Realizing he needs help to get the next clock, White Vincent enlists Hank, bartering Laila's release for his service. As Hank risks his life and dodges ominous warnings from the Shepherds, he comes to realize that people aren't always who they seem to be when shocking new information regarding his wife - and the death of Beck's husband -- comes to light.

Episode 5: Suspension (Jun/15/2013)
Hank is frustrated and confused about his relationship with Laila, as more questions come to light about who she really is. With the next clue sending Hank and Beck to Asuncion, Paraguay, the duo find themselves one step behind White Vincent, who shares a startling piece of information with Hank about his past and their connection. Meanwhile Arron and Rachel meet Melanie Lynch.

Episode 6: Weight (Jun/22/2013)
Still searching for answers to the secrets of his past, Hank confronts his parents about his birth and childhood. Realizing they can no longer stay silent but fearful about how the truth could affect him, they fess up. But Hank immediately senses his parents are not being fully transparent. White Vincent revisits memories of his own childhood and the parallel lives he and Hank have lived. Meanwhile, the hunt for Laila and the next clock brings Beck, Paige, Arron and Rachel to Istanbul, Turkey. Hank searches for more information about his "doppelganger," Commandant Korbin Sturm, and makes an unlikely connection with a man who holds the key to more than Hank could have ever imagined.

Episode 7: Sync (Jun/29/2013)
Laila reaches out to Hank to share her side of the story and hopes he will forgive her. Still not totally trusting his wife, Hank teams with Laila to achieve a major breakthrough in their search for the True Cross. The Shepherds also know Hank is too valuable an asset and that they must enlist his help to get to the True Cross before the Pyrates do. Meanwhile, White Vincent, still under the employment of "Mother," discovers a clue of his own that also brings him even closer to the end.

Episode 8: Winding (Jul/06/2013)
Hank and Laila are on the run in Strasbourg determined to beat the Pyrates in their quest for the True Cross, while "Molars," still captive on a salvage ship with White Vincent, shares some of his findings with him, including a journal written by his doppelganger, Kriegskommandant Dietrich. Back at Modern Skeptic Magazine, Arron and Rachel are convinced there's a mole within the FBI who is feeding information to The Shepherds. With so much at stake - life, death and the possible end of the world - the mole is closer than anyone realizes. And when Beck, Paige, Arron and Rachel meet up with Hank and Laila in Strasbourg, the mole is revealed. Beck, still grappling with so many unanswered questions about her husband, makes her own startling discovery that leaves everyone to wonder: "Whom can I trust?."

Episode 9: Balance (Jul/13/2013)
Hank, Beck and Laila accelerate their search for the True Cross to the Faroe Islands. With renewed hope that her husband, Theo ("Molars"), is alive, Beck sets out to find him. Meanwhile back home, the Gallistons sense that Hank is in trouble and know the time has come to tell him the truth about his early years. In his pursuit of Hank, Mr. Galliston stops by Modern Skeptic Magazine, and his confrontation with Melanie Lynch of the 41 Trust leaves everyone wondering about their connection. Finally, back in the Faroe Islands, White Vincent and his team race to find the Cross before Hank's team does, and with a Passion Flower guiding their next movement, shocking discoveries hidden deep beneath the ground change past and future history forever.

Episode 10: Escapement (Jul/20/2013)
Hank, Beck and Laila are in the Faroe Islands, unsure if they will live or die at the hands of the Pyrates. Rachel shares some surprising news with Hank about his parents and the 41 Trust. Hank's mother finally discloses the deeply painful secret she's been holding all these years, and a dumbfounded Hank realizes his father is the missing piece to the puzzle. But when Hank sets out to save him, he is thrust into a life-threatening situation which may spell his demise.

Episode 11: Hands (Jul/27/2013)
Injured and disoriented from his recent car accident, Hank awakens on Plum Island in the hands of Melanie Lynch, a.k.a "Mother," and the 41 Trust. With the stakes higher than ever, Hank's father agrees to continue his work for "Mother" to ultimately save his son's life. While Beck frantically assembles a rescue team in an attempt to find Hank, Laila is impatient and secretly heads out on her own. Inside the Plum Island laboratory, White Vincent unknowingly enters a deal that costs him more than he could have ever envisioned - and with everyone racing to save Hank Galliston, not everyone who goes in, comes out alive.

Episode 12: Ratchet (Aug/03/2013)
Everyone is on high alert, but their search for Rachel has met a dead end. However Hank has a dream which may contain clues that will guide the team to her remote location, and, hopefully help them stop the devious plan that "Mother"/Lynch has initiated in her "New Jerusalem." Meanwhile, Theo and Vincent strike a deal that would be mutually beneficial; and Hank, Beck and Arron travel to Tajikistan with Father Mickle and the Shepherds, and are thunderstruck by what they find waiting for them. Will Lynch's final action be successful, and is this the beginning of the end of the world?

Episode 13: Spring (Aug/03/2013)
Arriving at the entrance to New Jerusalem, Hank, Beck, Arron and the Shepherds know it's now or never to find Rachael and stop "Mother"/Lynch's plan before it's too late. Or will life as we know it end in an instant? With everything resting on his shoulders, it's up to Hank Galliston to save the world, on the series finale of "Zero Hour."
