Family Tree Premieres on HBO on May 12, 2013

Having recently lost his job and his girlfriend, 30-year-old Tom Chadwick has a rather unsure sense of his own identity. But when he inherits a mysterious box of belongings from a great aunt he never met, Tom starts investigating his lineage and uncovers a whole world of unusual stories and characters, acquiring a growing sense of who he and his real family are.

Written and created by Christopher Guest and Jim Piddock, the new comedy series FAMILY TREE is a single-camera, documentary-style show in the manner of Guest's acclaimed feature films (such as 'Best in Show,' 'Waiting for Guffman' and 'A Mighty Wind'). Chris O'Dowd ('Bridesmaids') stars as Tom Chadwick in the HBO presentation, along with Tom Bennett and Nina Conti. The series also features appearances by Carrie Aizley, Bob Balaban, Ed Begley, Jr., Maria Blasucci, Matt Griesser, Christopher Guest, Don Lake, Michael McKean, Lisa Palfrey, Jim Piddock, Kevin Pollak, Amy Seimetz, Meera Syal, Ashley Walters and Fred Willard.

I was surprised this episode was filmed in the UK but the so called expert in the field of antique photos showing him the wrong photo of his grandfather was amusing

Tom finding out his grandfather Harry was in theatre was amusing as he played the horses ass for twenty years

Tom and Pete visiting the gym where Tom's grandfather William trained for the Game was amusing as Pete was beaten by a kid but being given his grandfather's jockstrap was bizarre

Offering his hand to shake Tom's hand was amusing as he just pulled it out of a cows ass and what Pete was planing to do to the alpaca at the zoo was disturbing

Taking his pants off to get in the jacuzzi was a little disturbing

Tom great-great-grandfather Charles having photos wearing both sides uniform was a mysterious activity for a soldier but the story behind the uniforms was romantic and the American Civil War re-enactment was amusing as Tom was supposed to be dead not crawling to the toilet

Renting a classic red convertible car was great way to travel but only having a old photo to go on was interesting as the Indian is now Jewish

Bea loosing Monk was unbelievable as she hardly ever puts him down and Tom accompanied by Ally was interesting as he the one random book he pick up just happened to be the Kama Sutra and then the naked scene on the TV
