About the Show:
MASTERS OF SEX is a one-hour drama starring Emmy® and BAFTA Award nominee Michael Sheen and acclaimed actress Lizzy Caplan, who will portray the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The series chronicles the unusual lives, romance, and pop culture trajectory of Masters and Johnson. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a midwestern teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine and nearly a dozen appearances on Johnny Carson's couch.

Season 1



Episode 1: Pilot (Sep/29/2013)
Dr. William Masters, a successful doctor of obstetrics and gynecology, begins his controversial study of human sexuality. He recruits Virginia Johnson to be his secretary, but she quickly advances to be a valuable associate.

Episode 2: Race to Space (Oct/06/2013)
The Provost shuts down the research when he hears about the couples study and Masters is forced to move it elsewhere. Masters blames Virginia and fires her, but keeps her on until he can find a replacement.

Episode 3: Standard Deviation (Oct/13/2013)
A woman pregnant with quadruplets comes to the hospital and Dr. Haas lobbies for the case. A female gynecologist joins the staff. Both Dr. Masters and his wife learn a secret and both get what they want.

Episode 4: Thank You For Coming (Oct/20/2013)
Both Bill and Virginia have unexpected and unwelcome visitors at home. With the study back in the hospital, new participants are recruited. Ethan struggles to forget his feelings for Virginia.

Episode 5: Catherine (Oct/27/2013)
William and Libby experience personal tragedy. The couples' sessions resume in the study and Masters decides to pair Austin with a stranger. Virginia struggles with her parenting due to her long work hours. Ethan;s relationship with Vivian takes the next step, whether he likes it or not.

Episode 6: Brave New World (Nov/03/2013)
Bill and Libby vacation in Miami after losing the baby. Virginia attends a visiting doctor's speech and decides to investigate one of the claims on her own. Austin struggles with the reason for his non-performance in the study.

Episode 7: All Together Now (Nov/10/2013)
Virginia and William ramp up their participation in the study, leading to the inevitable complications. Libby bypasses William and pressures Ethan to resume the artificial insemination treatments. Austin and Margaret ramp up their tryst leading to differing expectations. Ethan decides to commit to Vivian.

Episode 8: Love And Marriage (Nov/17/2013)
Virginia resumes pursuit of her undergraduate degree. Masters takes Virginia's suggestion and enlists the aid of a technician to construct a working camera to film the intimate workings during sexual intimacy. Libby hires a handyman and quickly becomes friendly with him. Dr. DePaul pushes hard for funding for her project. Scully looks for a solution to his sexual deviation.

Episode 9: Involuntary (Nov/24/2013)
Virginia and Masters move on to filming involuntary reactions during the study, with Jane as usual being the first subject. Ethan reveals information about his heritage that threatens their relationship. Libby gets closer to Masters' mother and urges her to make an extra effort to bond with Bill.

Episode 10: Fallout (Dec/01/2013)
The hospital participates in civil defense exercises in preparation for nuclear war. A former study participant comes forward with news of her pregnancy that divides Bill and Virginia and puts Austin in an ethical bind. Ethan learns he has been effectively fired, but not for the reason he thought. Margaret seeks advice on how to please Barton and comes to a shocking realization.

Episode 11: Phallic Victories (Dec/08/2013)
Virginia wrangles an opportunity for Dr. DePaul to present her research to a group of doctors at a medical convention. While Virginia accompanies her, Ethan babysits her children and is surprised when Virginia's ex-husband shows up. Libby volunteers to help Masters at the office, who is frantic to make the presentation of his study to the rest of the hospital staff spellbinding.

Episode 12: Manhigh (Dec/15/2013)
Masters' presents his and Johnson's findings. Season finale.

Season 2



Episode 1: Parallax (Jul/13/2014)
Series 2 begins with Masters dealing with the ramifications of his disastrous presentation and being fired from the hospital. Meanwhile, Libby urges Masters to get another job; and Virginia fights off advances and innuendos stemming from the belief that she was the woman in Master's explicit film.

Episode 2: Kyrie Eleison (Jul/20/2014)
Betty's extortion continues as Masters starts his new job at Memorial Hospital and is told he can't continue to have Virginia as his secretary. Johnson doesn't know whether to get Masters to rehire her or to stay with DePaul as her condition worsens.

Episode 3: Fight (Jul/27/2014)
Virginia finds out about Masters' difficult childhood after they meet up at a hotel for a secret rendezvous.

Episode 4: Dirty Jobs (Aug/03/2014)
Johnson and Masters are seen leaving a hotel together by Langham. Masters attempts bringing Johnson on board as his assistant as his new job. Betty tries to hide things from Gene.

Episode 5: Giants (Aug/10/2014)
Masters continues his work as the only white doctor in a black hospital, but it costs him his gynecology practice. Robert confronts Libby over the treatment of his sister. Betty and her former lover reunite. Johnson struggles to fix things with DePaul, who now knows what is going on with Masters.

Episode 6: Blackbird (Aug/17/2014)
Masters is banned from using black participants in his study, but he contacts a journalist to help him. Johnson is forced to accept DePaul's decision to stop her chemotherapy sessions. Gene finds out the truth about Betty and Helen's relationship.

Episode 7: Asterion (Aug/24/2014)
Masters becomes impotent and stops his work with Johnson.

Episode 8: Mirror, Mirror (Aug/31/2014)
Johnson attempts to treat a woman on her own. Libby witnesses a hate-crime.

Episode 9: Story of My Life (Sep/07/2014)
Masters isn't impressed at Frank's accusations. Virginia uses the case history of a patient in order to get some psychological advice. Betty and Masters think of a way to cure Lester's impotence and so hire him a prostitute. Barbara gets a unsettling diagnosis.

Episode 10: Below the Belt (Sep/14/2014)
Johnson wants to find a cure for the difficulties that Masters is experiencing. Masters discovers a rival study. Langham is informed in order to keep his job, he has to have sex with Flo.

Episode 11: One for the Money, Two for the Show (Sep/21/2014)
A television crew arrives to document Masters and Johnson's work.

Episode 12: The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (Sep/28/2014)
Masters and Johnson feel ready to cure sexual dysfunction.
