When idealistic attorney Nick George's (Peter Krause) father dies, he ends up taking his father's clients, the Darlings, led by patriarch Tripp (Donald Sutherland). It's not always easy for Nick handling both legal and sometimes illegal matters.

Some people say money is the root of all evil. They may be right. Nick George's whole life has been lived in the shadow of the Darling family, but as an adult he's leading the perfect life as an idealistic lawyer, until his father's suspicious death. The absurdly wealthy Darlings of New York have asked him to take over his father's job as their personal lawyer, but the money that will allow him the freedom to be an altruistic do-gooder is only part of the picture. That same money pulls him into the dubious doings of the Darling clan. Power, privilege and family money are a volatile cocktail

The hour-long pilot was penned by Craig Wright and will be executive produced by Wright, Bryan Singer, and Greg Berlanti. The pilot is produced by ABC Television Studio in association with Berlanti Television.

Hey Bala you seem to have a whole thread to yourself
From an article i was reading ABC ordered the remaining episodes required to get DSM to total 22 eps.  and they ordered them after the strike began so it seems the answer is yes it got picked up.  I also read that there may be a potental love intrest signing on for Tripp.

This was interesting episode it just get more good story-line  i love how they lead to situation on the boat . i can't wait see how that situation developed

I think it is about time that George stood up to the Darlings, seems like he has to do all the dirty work even if he does not want to.

This was a really interesting episode, i liked that Nick is still having to do everything, was nice that Nick went to see his mum, i liked the debate, overall this was a good episode to watch.

Just updated today ,it was OK episode we didn't know the history between Nick and his mother and it's difficult if you haven't seen her 20 years and she find out she has grandchildren. i can't believe nick is being manipulated by Lathia darling. .
