Two Man Army

Strike Back Premiered On May 05, 2010 On Sky One

About Strike Back Season 1

The series takes place in a six-episode format. It follows the actions of John Porter, a former SAS Sergeant, and Hugh Collinson, a Section 20 officer in the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). Both of them took part in a botched operation on the eve of the 2003 invasion of Iraq where two soldiers in their unit were killed. The series is divided on three main story lines that took place seven years later.

The first two episodes focus on the kidnapping of Katie Dartmouth, a British journalist, outside Basra, Iraq. Porter is redrafted to rescue her. The next two episodes take place in Zimbabwe, where the Government accuses the UK of orchestrating the assassination plot of Robert Mugabe; Porter is to enter the same prison the apparent shooter is being held and aids in breaking out. The last two episodes take place in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where a computer hacker is responsible for killing several American troops in Helmand Province. A loose arc also takes place during the series concerning who killed the soldiers

About Strike Back Season 2

A high-octane, globe-spanning thriller with storylines ripped from today's headlines, Strike Back, Cinemax's first scripted prime-time original drama series, focuses on two members of a top-secret intelligence agency known as Section 20.

Michael Stonebridge, a British sergeant on the elite counter-terrorism team, and Damien Scott, a former U.S. Delta Force operative who was discharged on the eve of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Stonebridge, Scott and the rest of Section 20 criss-cross the globe on the trail of a deadly international terrorist named Latif, who is planning a major attack involving a cache of WMD that could have global repercussions.

About The Hour (UK 2011)

The Hour (UK 2011) premiered on BBC Two on July 19, 2011

About the Show:
Romola Garai, Dominic West and Ben Whishaw star in The Hour, a thrilling six-part drama which takes viewers behind the scenes of the launch of a topical news programme in London 1956, written and created by Bafta award-winning Abi Morgan.
With a highly competitive, sharp-witted and passionate love triangle at the heart of the series, it's through the lives of enigmatic Bel and her rivals, Freddie and Hector, that viewers will witness the decade on the threshold of change – from the ruthless sexual politics behind the polite social façade of the Fifties to the revelations that redefined the world for a new generation.
Over the six episodes, the interplay and intense ambitions between our rising news team play out against the backdrop of a mysterious murder and Freddie's controversial and dangerous investigation.
Ben Whishaw plays Freddie Lyon, a brilliant and outspoken journalist, whose passion endlessly lands him in trouble. Getting to the truth of a story can be a dangerous and risky business and it's Bel, his contemporary and best friend, who is always there to bail him out. For Freddie, Bel is so much more as well – if only he were brave enough to tell her.
Romola Garai plays Bel Rowley, spirited and ambitious and facing the most exciting and daunting challenge of her life – running The Hour. Can her passion for the truth survive the political pressure the job will bring – and will her friendship with Freddie survive her undeniable attraction to front man Hector?
Dominic West plays Hector Madden, charming, charismatic – a man whose upbringing and education have instilled in him a sense of entitlement and whose glamorous young wife has the family connections to get him the job as front man on The Hour. But, beneath the confident façade, Hector has a lot to prove. Bel provides the challenge – and the spark.
The Hour's supporting cast includes Tim Pigott-Smith and Juliet Stevenson as Lord and Lady Elms; Anton Lesser as Clarence Fendley, the BBC's Head of News; Anna Chancellor as Lix, The Hour's brave and maverick hard-drinking foreign correspondent; Julian Rhind-Tutt as Angus McCain, the Prime Minister's eyes and ears; and Oona Chaplin as Marnie Madden, Hector's spoilt beautiful wife.

Season 1

Episode 1:
In 1933 earnest young James Herriot arrives to study at the Glasgow Veterinary School and rooms with predatory, tipsy Mrs. Munro, along with fellow students, wealthy, cavalier McAloon and the fiercely feminist Whirly Tyson. James impresses one of his tutors, the modern-thinking Professor Ritchie when he correctly diagnoses a dray horse's illness. However James must learn that not all animals can be quickly cured and that sacrifices must be made to keep families together. Whirly falls foul of the reactionary Professor Gunnell, who demands her expulsion, but the apparently indolent McAloon turns up trumps by forcing the college principal,Professor Legge to make Gunnell back down.

Episode 2:
Whirly's friend Phoebe Murdoch,a farmer's daughter due to marry herdsman Desmond, tells the students her father's cattle are ailing but Murdoch and Desmond are hostile when James suggests their illness is caused by arsenic in the feed Desmond gives them. However Whirly's analysis saves the situation, allowing the marriage to go ahead though Gunnell's ignorant intervention into the crisis, which Whirly sees as an attempt to undermine her, spurs her to spiking his drink. McAloon sees the chance to make capital from an elderly couple concerned that their pet sheep Lilian is sick until Ritchie forces him to give them a rebate and donate the fee they have given him to the college.

Episode 3:
Whirly faces a tribunal where she denies putting Ipecac in Gunnell's drink. Jenny Muirhead, the only other girl on the course, speaks up for her but naively lets her down though fortunately the principled Professor Ritchie acts as her advocate and ensures she is not expelled. Jenny's parents, the wealthy Lord and Lady Muirhead, give James employment at their dog kennels but James and Ritchie are appalled to find that they are Fascist supporters who have Mrs Munro's Jewish lover Oskar arrested for challenging them. Their pro-Aryan beliefs also extend to an insistence on a pure bloodline in their animals, allowing the weakest to die and Ritchie and James rescue a sick dog by threatening to expose the bitchy Lady Muirhead's affair with her chief dog handler. As the term ends Whirly,McAloon and James learn that they have all passed their exams and are ready to help Professor Ritchie examine a sick elephant.
