Aliens in America Aired From October 01, 2007 - May 18, 2008 On The CW.

the plot:
Justin Tolchuck is a sensitive, lanky 16-year old just trying to make it through the social nightmare of high school in Medora, Wisconsin, with the help of his well-meaning mom Franny, aspiring-entrepreneur dad Gary and his beautiful and popular younger sister Claire.  Although he's bright and funny, Justin is also shy, socially awkward and pretty much resigned to the fact that he'll never be one of the cool kids.  Franny, however, is the kind of take-charge mom who micro-manages her family, and she's come up with a plan to help Justin: she signs up for
the school's international exchange student program.  Picturing an athletic, brilliant Nordic teen, Franny is sure this new friendship will bestow instant coolness on her outsider son.  However, when the Tolchuck's exchange student arrives, he turns out to be Raja Musharaff, a 16-year-old Muslim from a small village in Pakistan.  Raja is thoughtful, responsible and wise beyond his years.  To the Tolchucks and everyone else in Medora, he's also just about as foreign as a foreigner can be.  While the rest of the family is slightly freaked out by the Muslim in their midst, Gary is comforted by the fact that the host family receives a monthly check to help with expenses. This fits right in with Gary's money-making schemes, and when he sees how hard-working and respectful Raja is, he's totally on board.  As for Claire, she's too busy with her friends and her new boyfriend to pay much attention to their houseguest, but Raja is smitten from the moment he first sees her.  After the initial shock wears off, Justin is quickly won over by Raja's humor, gestures of friendship and by their common status as outsiders.  Despite the cultural chasm between them, Justin and Raja develop an unlikely bond that just might allow them to navigate the minefield that is contemporary high school.  It's going to be a very interesting year for Raja, Justin, his family and the entire population of Medora.

Episode 1x01 - Pilot [Series Premiere]

Justin Tolchuck, a 16 year old teenager, is struggling to have a satisfactory social life in high school in Wisconsin. Franny, Justin's mother, is concerned about his lack of friends and in order to fix this she signs up with the school's international exchange student program believing that an outsider would make her son cooler with his influence. However, the exchange student turns out to be a Muslim named Raja Musharaff, who belongs to a small village in Pakistan. But despite differences between Raja and Justin, they become good friends.

Episode 1x02 - No Man Is An Island

Raja explains to his class how close he and Justin are, prompting rumors about the two being a couple to spread throughout the school. Thus, Justin turns to Claire for help, who advises him to completely ignore Raja. This later causes Justin to be more alone than ever because Raja instead befriends the geekiest kid in school. Meanwhile, Gary decides to get involved when Claire decides to call it quits with Jeffrey.

Episode 1x03 - Rocket Club

When Franny loses her sense of boundaries and requests that Gary remove the locks from all the doors, Justin and his friends find time for themselves by creating the Rocket Club, which is their secret excuse to hang out and do whatever they want. Raja, however, does not fit in well with the group because he does not like the fact that all they do is nothing. He tries creating a real model rocket, which ends up getting the police involved.

Episode 1x04 - The Metamorphosis

When Raja encourages Anita, the hottest girl in school, to dress modestly and act intelligently, Justin thinks he may have a shot with her. Meanwhile, Claire suddenly becomes the head of the A-List crowd and Franny decides to focus her attention to Gary's wardrobe once Justin tells her it's time for him to get his own clothes.

Episode 1x05 - Help Wanted

Gary gives the boys a speech about finances, motivating Raja to get a job at a convenience store. Gary loses his job, but is afraid to tell Franny. Raja chooses not to sell beers to the high school students and gets fired for it. Justin is cool for a little while.

Episode 1x06 - Homecoming

Justin's aspirations to serve on the Homecoming Junior Float committee like previous years go down the drain when Raja gets chosen over him, creating a feud between the two. At the same time, Franny tries on Claire's Homecoming dress, which Gary finds attractive but when he finds out that the dress belongs to Claire, he disallows Claire to wear it outside of house because it was too sexy.

Episode 1x07 - Purple Heart

Much to the family's surprise, Raja begins smoking due to midterms stress. Meanwhile, Claire is heartbroken when Jeffrey breaks up with her and when Justin tries to cheer her up she embarrasses him in front of the kids at school. However, Claire soon finds herself trying to regain Justin's affections.

Episode 1x08 - My Musky, Myself

Claire forces Justin to become the school's mascot, but performing in front of an audience makes him very nervous, which results in him giving the responsibility to Raja. Raja's moves are loved by the crowd. Meanwhile, Gary finds himself creating a relationship with a very welcoming family.

Episode 1x09 - Junior Prank

Raja and Justin are the forces behind the latest school prank. Meanwhile, Franny gets addicted to an online garage sale, where she sells almost everything they have. Claire gets attached to the alpacas and Gary finally gets a job!

Episode 1x10 - Church

After Raja claims that the local shopping center is like the Tolchucks' version of church, Franny decides that the family should begin attending church again. Justin abuses the power of prayer and Claire wants to go on the pill.

Episode 1x11 - Mom's Coma

Justin is terrified by the school bully, Trey. But he finds a way out of getting beaten up--by lying about his Mom's health. Meanwhile, Franny gets involved in a minor fender bender, but Gary makes things worse when he tries to prevent her from taking responsibility.

Episode 1x12 - Hunting

An aptitude test is conducted at school. Raja will become a doctor. But, Justin gets a no career life choice. Gary annouces a hunting trip with Justin and Raja.

Episode 1x13 - Community Theater

A community theater group is putting on "Rent." Franny wants Justin to audition, but he won't, so she convinces him to join the crew. After Justin meets Zoe, a cute actress, he auditions for the male lead and gets the part. Meanwhile, Claire joins the school's teen hotline.

Episode 1x14 - One Hundred Thousand Miles

When Raja prays at the airport, the Tolchucks are questioned there. After the incident, Raja feels bad, so he asks to be placed with a new family. The Tolchucks search for Raja.

Episode 1x15 - The Muslim Card

Raja has trouble with a girl named Mindy. He starts spending time with her and finds out that she is annoying. After Justin tells Raja that Mindy believes that she is dating him, Raja lies to her in order to let her down. He tells her that they can't date because of their religious differences, but things get complicated when Mindy converts to Islam. Franny and Gary deal with a neighbor who is a registered sex offender.

Episode 1x16 - Smutty Books

When the PTA protests about smutty books at school, Justin and Franny are forced to read the books for the first time. Claire uses the protest as an excuse to getting out of reading "Pride and Prejudice." Justin turns to Raja when his parents find out that he has been drawing pictures of naked women.

Episode 1x17 - Wake at the Lake

Raja is organizing an event to help support Students Against Drunk Driving. They are having a fake funeral for someone. Everyone wants it to be for Dan Archer, but Raja wants it to be for Justin. Things get heated in the competition, but Justin soon realizes what the event is really about.

Episode 1x18 - Raja at Sixteen

Raja finds infatuation with Sadika Sadaqatmal, a local Muslim girl. Franny gets excited and plans a big date for them, which includes both sides of the family. Gary and Franny comment on how Justin doesn't even have a girlfriend yet, which causes him to ask out a neurotic girl named Donna. Claire begins dating the German exchange student staying with the Sadaqatmals.
