The Unit Aired From March 07, 2006 – May 10, 2009 On CBS

The Plot:
From Executive Producers David Mamet and Shawn Ryan, THE UNIT is an action drama that follows a covert team of Special Forces operatives as they risk their lives on undercover missions around the globe, while their families maintain the home front, protecting their husbands' secrets. Jonas Blane leads the Unit on missions out in the field and is responsible for taking new recruit Bob Brown under his wing. The Unit includes Jonas, Colonel Tom Ryan, Mack Gerhardt, Charles Grey, Hector Williams and Bob Brown, all highly skilled, trustworthy, brave and dependable soldiers whose ability to rely on each other is what creates their brotherhood. Jonas' wife, Molly, is the base matriarch who comforts and counsels the other wives as they cope with the fear and uncertainty they experience when their husbands leave home. Molly and Tiffy Gerhardt, a wife hiding her own dark secrets, help Bob's pregnant wife, Kim, acclimate to the stress of her new secret life.

The Unit is based on the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1SFOD-D) more commonly known as Delta Force, a clandestine American counter-terrorism outfit
But The Unit is primarily based on Eric Haney's Book 'Inside Delta Force' and he is co-executive producer on the show. He was previously a technical consultant in Hollywood after being a freelance security consultant and former Delta force operator.
Haney was assigned to Delta Force in December 78 and became a Delta operator mid '79. He spent 8 years in Delta Force and eventually retired from the Army in 1990.
There is some contoversy over some of the content of his book by some other Delta operators, claiming that he embelished some of his claims but Haney stands by the books content.
But this doesnt take away from the quality of the TV show....

Some useless Haney facts on the show....
In the show, the official cover used by 'The Unit' is the "303rd Logistical Studies Group" based in fictional 'Fort Griffith'.  The sign at the entrance of the 303rd Logistics building lists CSM E.L Haney (the aformentioned Eric L Haney) as the Units first seargent.
Haneys name has also appeared on the blackboard of The Units rec room where the operators tick off beers taken from the fridge. (the episode where Mac ticks his beer on the board - cant remember which episode)

Episode 1x01 - First Responders [Series Premiere]


The Unit is a covert team of U.S. Special Forces operatives who must undertake missions around the world. The latest newcomer is Bob Brown who joins Jonas' team and they set out to rescue an airliner filled with European businessmen who have been hijacked by terrorists. Meanwhile, Bob's wife Kim is struggling with how much control the Unit has on her own personal life.



Episode 1x02 - Stress

The team, minus Bob, are in search of a fallen Chinese satellite. This quickly turns into an opportunity to capture one of the world's most wanted terrorists. Meanwhile, Bob is questioned about the Unit's role in the rescue of the hijacked plane. Molly decides to visit the Unit's psychiatrist about the shooting at her home. Kim is frustrating about moving and then comforts a woman who has just learned her husband has died in combat.



Episode 1x03 - 200th Hour


Jonas attempts to rescue a group of American missionaries in hiding in Indonesia. However, he soon realizes that the mission is going to require more manpower than he had previously expected. On the home front, Mack ends up being shot by Bob during a training exercise. Molly, Kim, and Tiffy prepare to host a visiting senator.



Episode 1x04 - True Believers


The Unit is sent to Los Angeles to protect Mexico's drug minister who has been threatened with assassination and soon his wife and sons are kidnapped. At the base, a former Unit wife makes a return appearance in the hopes of luring the Unit members away. Tiffy is upset when Ryan orders Mack to take time off.


Episode 1x05 - Non-Permissive Environment


Jonas and the team carry out an assassination of a terrorist in Spain. However, they soon find out that the government called off the mission and will now not protect them in the country which means there only hope is to escape. Back at the base, Molly learns that her daughter Betsy wants to drop out of college and Kim thinks about taking a college course herself.



Episode 1x06 - Security


The Unit must try to get a listening device to an agent inside the Iranian embassy where U.S., Iranian, and Russian diplomats are meeting. Many are speculating that the Russians are attempting to sell the Iranians material to make a nuclear weapon. Meanwhile at the base, Tom tries to end his affair with Tiffy but she won't listen to him and Kim notices Tiffy at a motel room and does not know what she should do.



Episode 1x07 - Dedication


The crew must fly to Afghanistan to assassinate a high ranking member of the Taliban. However, one of their team helicopters ends up going down in enemy territory, placing the entire crew in jeopardy. Back at the base, Molly confronts a friend and retired Unit veteran about his addiction to painkillers and Kim ends up getting a job at the local radio station.



Episode 1x08 - SERE


The Unit enters the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance Escape) training course and they are lead to believe that they will be guards. The group is soon shocked to discover that they are actually the POWs for an undetermined amount of time.



Episode 1x09 - Eating the Young


Jonas and his team must track down surface-to-air missles before they are smuggled out of Brazil after a deal with a drug lord falls through.Jonas gets help from a local boy who informs the team where the SAMs have been taken to be shipped. Meanwhile back on the base, Kim ends up causing even more trouble when she insists that the “Family Readiness Group” deals with what she deems more serious issues. Also, Williams tries to find a way to tell the woman he wants to marry that he is actually a Unit member and not a clerk on the base like she believes.



Episode 1x10 - Unannounced


After Bob gets his cover blown in Africa, he tells Jonas to cancel a visit a dignitary is taking to the area because of the danger. However,the official refuses and something shocking is quickly learned about why he really wants to go there. Meanwhile, Kim has an encounter while at the radio station and Molly gets offered a real estate opportunity.



Episode 1x11 - Exposure


Keith Soto returns to the base for a reunion and it's quickly discovered by Jonas and Col. Tom Ryan that he is a newspaper reporter who is writing an article that will expose the Unit. Jonas decides there is only one way to get him to not print the story. Meanwhile,with some help from Tiffy and Kim, Molly tracks down the woman who scammed $40,000 of the women's investment fund.



Episode 1x12 - Morale, Welfare and Recreation


The Unit is called in to consult on a bomb planted in an Atlanta bank, but they soon learn that the bomb might be nuclear. Meanwhile, Bob and Kim decide to take a much needed vacation, but Kim soon discovers that Bob has whisked her away on a mission and wants her to help him out.



Episode 1x13 - The Wall [Season Finale]


The Unit detains a former Yugoslav general who is wanted for war crimes and then allows the U.N. take credit for their capture. However, the criminal escapes U.N. custody and seeks vengeance against Jonas. On the home front, Tiffy is convinced that Mack has decided to re-enlist with the Unit and considers divorcing him. Kim is the recipient of some disturbing news.

Episode 2x01 - Change of Station [Season Premiere]
The team is sent to Pakistan to help an undercover operative foil a terrorist attack on many cities. On the home front, Molly and Tiffy help one of Tiffy's former students and Kim and Bob welcome a new addition to their family.

Episode 2x02 - Extreme Rendition
A former member of the Unit is locked up in a Bulgarian prison and Jonas and his team must go to help him escape in order to find one of the world's leading arms dealers. On the home front, the women meet a young man who hopes to be part of the unit someday. However, in order to get extra money to take care of her aging mother, Molly takes a one time recruiting job to hire the man away form the military. Needless to say, members of the Unit family are none to pleased at Molly's new job.

Episode 2x03 - The Kill Zone
A mission is put on hold in South America because the team has to rescue two members trapped by snipers.

Meanwhile, the wives take on a mission of their own to help a unit widow.

Episode 2x04 - Manhunt
The men are working on tracking down a known terrorist before he can launch an attack. At home, the women must face their own danger when a stranger approaches one of the children.

Episode 2x05 - Force Majeure
The Unit finds itself torn between saving an African dictator or innocent people when they are sent into a hospital as a hurricane hits.

On the home front, Mack and Tiffy reconnect with each other.

Episode 2x06 - Old Home Week
The team is assigned to stop of shipment of smuggled diamonds and Bob is conflicted when he sees one of the men helping themselves to the diamonds.

On the home front, Molly and Kim are raising money to help the men and women serving in Iraq. Tiffy debates the war with protesters from a local school.

Episode 2x07 - Off the Meter
Jonas and Bob, on personal time, rescues a young girl from a cult leader as a favor to an old friend.  

Tiffy covers for Charlotte and finds herself in a lot of trouble.

Episode 2x08 - Natural Selection
While struggling to keep himself and his translator alive after their helicopter crashes in Siberia, Bob remembers the process in which he went through to become a member of the Unit.

Episode 2x09 - Report By Exception
Colonel Ryan becomes under scrutiny from a Congressional committee in Washington. Jonas and the team work against an oil minister in South American. On the home front, Molly works with Kim in finding a babysitter for the children.

Episode 2x10 - Bait
Jonas heads off to the Democratic Republic of Georgia and finds himself in trouble.

On the home front, Mack and Tiffy are fighting her legal troubles and Colonel Ryan is going head to head with the vice president's men.

Episode 2x11 - Silver Star
Jonas and Molly go home to celebrate the overdue presentation of George Blane with the Silver Star for his service in Korea. The celebration is interrupted by the discovery that their nephew is beating his wife. Jonas attempts to remedy his nephew's behavior by sharing memories of his father after he returned from war.

Meanwhile, Mack offers help to a jet that needs assistance to land after the pilot dies in mid flight and the jet flies into a restricted area. Piloting the jet is a former Ranger, with an alcohol problem and Mack calls Bob in to help out.

Episode 2x12 - The Broom Cupboard
Jonas is assigned to protect an US Senator on a humanitarian mission to an Asian country. Although he has been secretly ordered by the President of the United States to meet with the former Prince who is planning a revolution against the current regime.

On the home front, Molly, Kim and Tiffy work with Jeremy in planning a surprise for Crystal.

Episode 2x13 - Sub Conscious
The mission is to take control of a South Korean submarine to assist in the defection of a North Korean Scientist. The team find themselves confronted by several roadblocks. On the submarine, the South Korean Captain does not want to take orders from Jonas. On the home front, Kim has a dream that shares many similarities to the current mission. Ryan thinks that Bob told Kim about the mission and threatens to scrap the mission and wants to fire Bob.

Episode 2x14 - Johnny B. Goode
The team is sent into Iran to set up a system that can detect Weapons of Mass Destruction. The mission goes off kilter when civilians become involved.

On the home front, Tiffy runs into a dilemma while doing her community service. Molly and Kim are helping Jeremy and are confused by Crystal's behaviors. Mack finds himself in trouble.

Episode 2x15 - The Water is Wide
The team goes to New York to protect a foreign dignitary at the United Nations building. A bomb is discovered and they must diffuse it.

Molly and Tiffy travel to Vietnam to attend a War Memorial Service. A mother of a POW asks them to look for her missing son.

On the home front, Mack rejects Crystal's advances and she threatens to tell Tiffy.

Episode 2x16 - Games of Chance
The team participates in a unique competition known as the CT Games that puts them up against other Special Forces units from around the world. Things take a bad turn when one of the teams appears to be taking things too far to win.

Kim must travel to Utah to save her job and finds herself meeting an ex-lover. She spends some time getting reacquainted with him.

Episode 2x17 - Dark of the Moon
The Unit is sent to Pakistan to retrieve three suspected terrorists when they run into trouble with the local forces. They find a U.S. base with a small force of troops that do not respect their commanding officer. Jonas takes control of the combined group and prepares them for the impending attacks.

Episode 2x18 - Two Coins
The Unit travels to Israel to learn some new techniques in terrorist tactics and how to defend against these tactics. Charles becomes interested in a Sergeant in the Israeli Army, yet things turn very dangerous when they go off alone together.

On the home front, Tiffy finds some WWII memorabilia and begins soul searching on what she should do with it.

Episode 2x19 - The Outsiders
Bob and Hector head to New Guinea to retrieve a black box from an Army aircraft that was shot down. The wreckage is located on sacred grounds and they need to permission of the local tribes to retrieve the item. They both must face their own battles to gain the acceptance of the tribe in order to succeed with the mission.

On the home front, when Crystal tells a reporter about Mack to get even with him for rejecting her. This action endangers the entire team as well as the National Security of the country. Mack must enlist the aid of the other Unit members to neutralize this threat.

Episode 2x20 - In Loco Parentis
The Unit is called in to help out the local SWAT team when a prominent school in Virginia is taken over by shooters. They must determine how to free the hostages without the students getting injured.

On the home front, Lissy has a young man interested in her, which turns into a delicate situation as he is the son of an Officer. Kim further complicates this matter, when she defies Tiffy’s orders and Lissy pays the price.

Episode 2x21 - Bedfellows
Jonas and Bob travel to Belarus to try and locate a wanted man. Bob is being pressured by the CIA to change the mission parameters without Jonas' knowledge.

On the home front, when Mack comes home from along assignment he finds evidence that Tiffy maybe cheating on him. When Mack starts investigating this theory, it takes him to a bad place.

Episode 2x22 - Freefall
When a Thai prince and his family visits the U.S. to enter into a deal,Mack, Hector and Charles are assigned bodyguard duty. Jonas and Bob must jump out of a plane to gain entry behind enemy lines and tag a building full of terrorists.

On the home front, Tiffy discovers that Mack thinks she is having an affair and takes steps to prevent anyone from getting killed.

Episode 2x23 - Paradise Lost [Season Finale]
The Unit faces its greatest threat when they are investigated by the Government for their actions. Each man must make his own difficult choices, which puts the entire team in jeopardy.

Episode 3x01 - Pandemonium, Part I [Season Premiere]
Jonas is still in hiding, Mack and Hector are still imprisoned, Charlesis on the run, Bob is in Mexico, working for the CIA and Colonel Ryanis again called to answer question before a Congressional hearing.

Episode 3x02 - Pandemonium, Part II
Jonas works out a plan and the team reunites to clear their reputation. Kim is working behind the scenes to keep the CIA away from the other wives.

Episode 3x03 - Always Kiss Them Goodbye
The Unit is back together and ready to take on their next assignment when a bomb filled with a nerve agent stolen from a nearby base is discovered to be on its way to their home. On the home front, Jonas and Molly make plans to spend time together, Mack is ordered to move out of his home, and Kim proposes a new show for the station but ends up handling a crisis.

Episode 3x04 - Every Step You Take
The team travels to Abidjan, Ivory Coast to aid personnel from the American Embassy. They must get the Americans and their families out of the area. On the home front, Jonas’ daughter has enlisted in the Army and he wants to train her as well as to test her resolve.

Episode 3x05 - Inside Out
Jonas, Mack and Hector are assigned to recover a chip containing information that could prevent a possible terrorist attack. On the home front, Kim is ordered to bed, which leaves Bob caring for the children. Tiffy is fired from her job and must find new employment.

Episode 3x06 - M.Ps
Mack, Charles and Jonas are assigned to protect an American musician while she tours the army camps in Iraq. Bob is assigned to transfer a prisoner from a high-security prison. On the home front, Hector is setup with one of Tiffy's co-workers, which has surprising consequences for Tiffy.

Episode 3x07 - Five Brothers
The Unit is in Lebanon when Charles is seriously wounded. They must think and act quickly to save his life.

On the Home Front, Tiffy's problems continue to build when a man she met at her job tows her car. The women stand up and fight to protect her.

Episode 3x08 - Play 16
Jonas goes on a solo mission, enlisting the help of some local militants to hunt down a terrorist known as "The Butcher". Charles is still recovering in the hospital, Mack takes on the task of arranging Hector's final funeral preparations, with the help of the other wives and Bob has been ordered to deal with the rescued journalist. Ryan must deal with the man sent by Washington to oversee the cover story.

Episode 3x09 - Binary Explosion
Charles goes undercover among gang members from his old neighborhood when it's discovered that they've been stealing explosives and weapons. Meanwhile, Tiffy gets hurt and Mack goes after her attackers.

Episode 3x10 - Gone Missing
In Montenegro, Bob has a moral dilemma when he disagrees with the team's mission. Tiffy discovers some information about Molly's past and decides to look into it further.

Episode 3x11 - Side Angle Side [Season Finale]
A Russian scientist and a British MI5 agent are suspected of collusion. Jonas is sent to London to team up with the agent. However, things get complicated as Jonas had been engaged to the agent's wife earlier.

4x01 - Sacrifice [SEASON PREMIERE]

The women of the "Unit" are asked to leave the base when danger looms for them, while the men are away trying to find out who wants to assassinate the President and Vice President.

4x02 - Sudden Flight

The men of the Unit are on the hunt to find out who ordered the assasination of the President Elect, as they follow a scientist on a flight who may be the next target of the group. Things back at home are hectic as the women are allowed back on base, but not as the women you knew them as.

4x03 - Sex Trade

While the Unit is investigating a man they believe to be smuggling nuclear weapons, they discover that he is also smuggling women.

4x04 - The Conduit

Bob and Mack both find themselves in trouble when they each take assignments undercover: Bob as a chemist, who hides cocaine by converting it into paint and Mack, as a prize fighter who tries to bust an illegal betting ring. Back at home, the wives must find a way to protect Lissy and their covers.

4x05 - Dancing Lessons

A dying nuclear scientist refuses to disclose information about an impending terrorist attack until his family is rescued in Mexico. Back at home, Jonas and the wives work on a covert operation of their own.

4x06 - Inquisition

The team tries to convince a man to give up his accomplices by making him believe that the attack already happened. Mack is preoccupied trying to find out information about Tiffy's affair with Ryan.

4x07 - Into Hell (1)

When Betsy Blane is taken hostage, Jonas and his team go to Iraq to rescue her, but those plans may be put in jeopardy when Mack and Colonel Ryan are paired on an operation.

4x08 - Into Hell (2)

Jonas and the team are in Syria and continue towards freeing Betsy Blane from her captors. Mack is still looking for an opportunity to get back at Ryan.

4x09 - Shadow Riders

In order to keep peace between two Afghanistan tribes, the team is assigned to deliver a young woman to her future husband. On the home front, Bob works with his wife, Kim to find a man who is believed to be working with terrorists.

4x10 - Mislead and Misguided

When the team is ordered to raid an anthrax lab, they find themselves fighting against their ally; a political official who thinks the high-tech gadgetry is better than field logic.On the home front, Kim finds herself in a life-threatening situation when her boss tells her to help him cover up a murder.

4x11 - Switchblade

Jonas, Mack and Bob are saddled with Metz on a mission to rescue a president from his own country. Back home, a mysterious woman shows up at Aerodyne headquarters and develops a relationship with Charles, which may end up blowing his cover. Kim and Tiffy head to the beach for a much need vacation, only to find a surprise waiting.

4x12 - Bad Beat

Jonas must play a game of no limit Hold 'Em poker as part of a plan that ends up putting one of the team in grave danger. They are working with the CIA on this mission and their success may have implications to one of their own.

4x13 - The Spear of Destiny

Mack gets badly wounded while on a mission with Jonas and they must seek refuge in a monk's monastery. Mack has vision of a fallen team member. On the home front, Bob is assigned to a dangerous mission and is still having problems from his last mission. Kim goes along to help her husband and sees the darker side of his job.

4x14 - The Last Nazi

The Unit is ordered to capture a Nazi war criminal from hiding and deliver him to The Hague. When Colonel Ryan is offered a promotion, he reevaluates his past with the help of a friend. Also, Molly has a surprise visitor at Aerodyne.

4x15 - Hero

The Unit teats a new team member nad finishes wrapping up the events of their fallen brother. Jonas helps Betsy prepare for an interview regarding her kidnapping.

4x16 - Hill 60

When a deadly gas is released into the air, the men and their families are trapped in their homes. Without an access to the outside world, they must find a way to survive this attack.

4x17 - Flesh & Blood

The Unit is sent in to rescue an old friend and finds themselves in trouble. On the home front, Tom finds a lead in a terrorist attack and implements some extreme measures to get the information from a suspect.

4x18 - Best Laid Plans

Things go wrong when Jonas and Mack go undercover in an attempt to find the terrorists who killed the vice president.

4x19 - Whiplash

One of the Unit members attacks their own and the team must deal with them.

4x20 - Chaos Theory

A well thought out and planned mission is affected by a random event leaving Jonas and Bob to plan a new mission.

4x21 - Endgame

Molly is kidnapped and used as bait, while Jonas is in the field looking into a Russian terrorist cell.

4x22 - Unknown Soldier [SEASON FINALE]

When several dirty bombs are found on American soil, The Unit is deployed to find and diffuse. On the home front, the wives prepare for a wedding and a possible divorce.
